This very old dog from the Gohagoda Water Board, now named ජලී (Jalee), is at Vet Care Hospital, Kurunegala under Baw Baw care via a Water Board official, as a Baw Baw rescue. 🙏

KACPAW helped with the transport and initial clinic payments for some basic pre-required tests to ward him.

Water Board will have him back, when he is cured.

දිට්වා හෝ ගංවතුර හෝ ආවා හෝ නාවා හෝ හැමදාම කරන දේ. . .

වීදී සුනඛයන් බවට පත් කරවූ සතුන් 23ක් ඊයේ වන්දීකරණය කර ජලභීතිකා එන්නත දී හිටපු තැන වලටම මුදා හැරියා. ඊට පෙර සතියට පෙර සතියේ එවන් සතුන් 22කට එම සත්කාරය ලබා දුන්නා.

අවට ප්‍රජාව මෙවන් සතුන්ට කන්න බොන්න දීලා සළකන විදිය දැක්කම ඇත්තටම පුදුම සතුටක් දැනෙන්නේ.

ඒ අයට කරගන්න බැරි දේ අපි කරලා දෙනවා. තමන්ගේ වගේ මේ අහිංසකයන් බලා ගන්නේ ප්‍රජාවයි.

Ditwa or floods or not, this we do regularly. Catch, Neuter, Spay and Release.

Grabbed into homes the Gannoruwa miracle pups (now about two months old) who were untouched by the mighty Mahaweli, which destroyed everything in and around where thees babies were from the time they were born.

These are people with amazing hearts that opened up for these innocents despite the current predicament most people face. Look at those smiling faces.

Will spay the young mummies. Huge relief.

Yet another animal abuse case emerging or ???? 🐴🐴🐎🐎🐎

Ineke Anne Pitts and I have been discussing over several months now and I have been communicating with the Nuwara Eliya Mayor regarding the Nuwara Eliya pony and horse care and welfare, after we got to know that the Mayor is planning to confiscate the neglected ponies and horses in a bid to improve their care and welfare.

This is after we did a Pony and Horse welfare camp in 2014 or so in which Ineke and team treated over 100 ponies and some horses and entered all their details into a database for the NE MC, which never got activated. 😪

Much to our horror recently, we saw an FB post circulating showing allegedly two such confiscated ponies in a compound bereft of any food or water. We thought, oh no, yet another animal abuse/cruelty issue emerging. 😪😪😪

Mercifully, nothing like that. 🙏🙏🙏

Ineke and team braved the apocalyptic devastation and rushed to Nuwara Eliya from Colombo today (3/12) and thank goodness she reported 👇

"four happy healthy well-cared for babies. The people responsible have knowledge and are feeding twice a day." 💙💙🩷🩷

These 🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎 cannot be in better hands than with Ineke. 🙏

Staying on in Nuwara Eliya, Ineke will see to it that the 🐴🐎🐴🐎 will have enough to eat and will coordinate with the Mayor and NE MC to ensure that these babies will be the pride of Nuwara Eliya. 👍👍💙🩷🐴🐎🙏🙏

මහනුවර දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ 🐒🐒🐒 අමානුෂික ලෙස කොටු කලා. මැරුවා. අද මහනුවර දිස්ත්‍රික්කයම කොටු වෙලා, සියල්ල විනාශ වෙලා, මිනිස්සු නන්නත්තාර වෙලා.

මේවා අහඹු දේවල් නෙවේ.

Trains mowed down wild 🐘🐘s mercilessly. Today no trains can ply to the central, eastern or northern parts of the country.

Mercilessly, killed, maimed, electrocuted, shot wild 🐘🐘🐘 to protect crops and paddy cultivations. All crops and paddy cultivations have been decimated today by the floods.

Kandy District notoriously captured monkeys and killed them, tortured them in cages in order to protect crops. Today the entire Kandy District is incarcerated by floods, landslides and everything is destroyed (crops, homes, lives), and people walk around shell shocked and looking for clean water, in a truely apocalyptic aftermath.

All this has NOT taken place by chance.

ගැටඹේ පන්සලේ මහවැලි ඉවුරෙන් අනිත් පැත්තේ ඉවුරේ තියෙන ආයතන කිහිපයක හිටියේ මේ කිරි සප්පයන් හා මවු වරු.

මම නං හිතුවේ ජලයට බිලි වී ඇතැයි කියාය.

ඒත්, දළදා සමිදුගේ පිහිට ලැබූ වගයි. ආශ්චර්යක්මැයි.

I was on-location-fostering these mums and pups from almost the pups' birth.

Thought they had all got swept away as they were in a very vulnerable area.

A miracle indeed to see them today.

Last picture is when they were just about 10 days old. There are four males and one female pup.

ඒ දෙන්නා ගොඩ නගා ගත් සියල්ලම ඉවරයි.

අපේ ග්‍රාම නිළධාරීනී අපගේ සුවදුක් විමසන්න කථා කලහම මා අසා සිටියේ කාට හරි උදවු ඕනේ අය ඉන්නවානං කියන්න කියලා.

Today I stepped out of my comfort zone to get all these stuff and give to the parents of a one and a half year old.

The young couple has lost eveything!

They were luckily not at home when the landslide demolished their home.
