Casper Welfare Trust

Casper Welfare Trust Support our efforts to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs and Cats in need" Helping stray dogs and cats was started by 2 medical doctors 14 years back.

They then held regular jobs but now are retired and are supported by their daughter. They feed around 75 dogs and 35 cats Daily. Some twice and others once daily. over the years the numbers have gradually grown with Covid years showing the most number of cats and dogs thrown in the surrounding area. The feeding rounds start at around 430am long before the roads Become busy. The earliest visitors

are the dogs from the university of Colombo. Then food packs are taken on foot to the surrounding neighbourhood. The female animals are steralised and ill animals are taken to Crown pet where they support us by treating animals on credit. As our space is limited we try as much as possible to feed and maintain street animals on the street or if possible find them forever homes. We are grateful to people who support us by donating old newspapers for food packs or rice.
