PET EXPO 2026 – Official Launch Kandy
The PET EXPO 2026 launch meeting was successfully held at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences, Peradeniya, with the participation of the Dean, academic staff members, representatives from VAAP, SLVC, DAPH, the Sri Lanka Police Kennel Division and EXCO members.
This initiative marks a historic milestone, as PET EXPO 2026 will be the first ever veterinarian-led national pet exhibition in Sri Lanka, bringing together the entire pet care industry under one platform.
During the session, the concept, objectives, and national importance of PET EXPO 2026 were presented. The Dean and the faculty members expressed their full support for the initiative and confirmed their willingness to actively collaborate in making the event a success.
Several faculty based stalls were proposed for the exhibition, including stalls representing the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH), Centre for Aquatic Animal Disease Diagnosis and Research (CAADDR), and Veterinary Public Health, which will showcase the academic, research, clinical, and public health contributions of the veterinary profession to the general public.
The Sri Lanka Police Kennel Division also expressed strong interest in participating and being actively involved in the event.
Representatives from the faculty, Veterinary Alumni Association of Peradeniya (VAAP), Department of Animal Production and Health (DAPH), and the Sri Lanka Veterinary Council (SLVC) highly appreciated this initiative, recognizing its potential to strengthen the pet care industry while enhancing public awareness of the veterinary profession.
The program concluded with a panel discussion, where participants actively shared valuable ideas, suggestions, and strategies to further strengthen the planning and ex*****on of PET EXPO 2026.
Overall, the launch meeting marked the beginning of a truly historic journey. 🙌🏻✨
