Alex & Ammi geht es sehr schlecht 😪

Unser hübscher noch so junger Rüde Alex hat sich trotz Impfung mit Staupe infiziert. Auch Ammi, die Mama von Alwa, Aaron & Abbey ist schwer infiziert. Den Beiden geht es täglich schlechter und wir werden sie wohl erlösen müssen, sollte sich dafür ein Tierarzt hier finden…

Der Staupe-Virus breitet sich im Moment unaufhaltsam in unserer Gegend aus. Selbst geimpfte Hunde sind vor dieser grausamen Krankheit nicht 100 % geschützt! Einmal infiziert, tötet das Virus langsam und qualvoll. Dazu ist es hochgradig ansteckend. Vollumfassende DHLP Impfungen (Distemper/Hepatitis (Adenovirus)/Leptospirose/Parvovirose sind hier daher überlebenswichtig!

Bitte helft uns so viele Hunde wie möglich auf den Straßen zu impfen um ihnen Leid und einen grausamen Tod zu ersparen und dieses todbringende Virus auszurotten! 🙏

Alex & Ammi are doing very bad 😪

Our beautiful young male Alex got badly infected with the distemper virus. Also Ammi, the mother of Alwa, Aaron & Abbey is heavily infected. Though both of them are vaccinated. Day by day they are doing worse so that we might have to let them go if we find a vet here doing so…

The distemper virus is heavily spreading in our area at the moment. Even vaccinated dogs are not 100 % protected! Once they get infected this deadly virus is killing them slowly. Besides that, it is highly contagious. Therefore, DHLP vaccinations are the only chance for the strays to survive this harsh street life!

Please help us to vaccinate as many dogs as possible out on the street to avoid horrible suffering and to exterminate this deadly virus! 🙏

Floh ist heute gestorben 💔

Floh hat uns heute leider verlassen. Ich denke, seine Seele und sein Körper waren müde vom Kämpfen. Nach schwerem Leiden ist er heute an Organversagen gestorben.

Wenn ich meine Emotionen etwas versuche bei Seite zu schieben, bin ich erleichtert für ihn, ehrlich gesagt. Dennoch tief traurig weil es viel zu früh und vollkommen unnötig für diesen Hund war. Sein geschwächter Körper hat einen weiteren Infekt einfach nicht mehr überstanden…

Floh ist der zweite Langhaar-Schäferhund, den wir aus schlimmer Haltung gerettet haben und der es leider wie unsere Bella auf Grund seiner schlechten körperlichen Konstitution nicht schaffte…Er hatte sich innerhalb eines Jahres so gut bei uns erholt und dennoch war ihm nicht mehr Zeit gegönnt. 😔

Mein Herz ist wie so oft schwer und ich frage mich mal wieder: Warum tut Tierrettung so weh? Warum hatte er das Glück, seinem Tod zu entkommen wenn er am Ende doch nicht mehr Lebenszeit bekam? Warum das Alles? Jetzt, wo seine Zukunft gerade erst anfing…

Wieder einmal bin ich absolut bestätigt in meiner Meinung, dass diese Rasse nicht in ein tropisches Land wie Sri Lanka gehört! Die Menschen kaufen dort Rassehunde wie ein Produkt für ihren Status ohne das jeweilige Know-How zu haben, welches dringend notwendig ist. Sobald die Hunde keine Welpen mehr sind, sind sie sich selbst überlassen. Eingesperrt in einem Käfig, ohne artgerechtes Futter, ohne Bewegung und ohne Zuwendung. Das ist leider die traurige Realität für 80 % der Rassehunde.

Floh war eines dieser Opfer.

Du bist jetzt frei und wir wünschen Dir einen wunderschönen Strand, den Du niemals in Deinem viel zu kurzen Leben sehen konntest und unendlich grüne Wiesen zum Spielen und Rennen!

Floh left us today 💔

Floh sadly left us. I think his soul and body were tired from fighting. After suffering much he died from organ failure caused by a heavy tick fever infection.

If I try to keep aside a little my emotions I feel relief for him. Though I sorrow deeply because it was way to early und so unnecessary for this dog. His weakened body just couldn’t cope the next infection…

Floh is the second of two lion-shepherds we rescued from their owners who neglected them. Like our Bella he didn’t make it due to his previous life conditions. He recovered so well within one year with us but however more time was not given to him 😔

My heart is heavy like so many times and I ask myself again: Why does animal rescue hurt so much? Why did this dog had the luck to escape his death when in the end he didn’t get more life time? Just now when his new life just started…

And again my belief is confirmed. My opinion that this kind of breed ist never made for a tropical country like Sri Lanka! People buy breeded dogs like a product for their ego without having any necessary knowledge. As soon as the puppies grow up no one takes care anymore. Caged, without proper food (if any at all), without moving and without love…THIS is the sad reality for 80 % of Shepherds, Rottweilers and other breeds.

Floh was one of these ego victims.

We are incredibly sorry my dear Floh ❤️

Now you are free to enjoy beautiful beaches which you have never seen in your short life though they were just around the corner! We also wish you endless green fields to play and run!

Wir benötigen dringend Spot-on Produkte gegen Zecken!

Wir haben einen massiven Zeckenbefall und leider helfen die Spot-on Produkte, die es hier relativ teuer zu kaufen gibt, so gut wie gar nicht.. drei unserer Hunde sind schwer mit Zeckenfieber infiziert. Aaron, Abbey und Floh müssen täglich zum Tierarzt um Infusionen zu bekommen. Floh geht es leider sehr schlecht auf Grund von Organschäden aus seiner vorigen Haltung. Wir wissen nicht ob er diese Erkrankung erneut überstehen wird 😔

Bitte, wir benötigen dringend Frontline, Frontline Plus, Frontline Combo, Nexgard, Advantix etc. Diese hochwirksamen Antizeckenmittel (Spot-on oder Kautablette) retten hier Leben! Falls Jemand demnächst nach Sri Lanka reist…bitte bringt uns welche mit! 🙏 Gerne könnt ihr sie auch an meine deutsche Adresse schicken und ich nehme sie mit 🙂 bitte PN. Fragt gerne eure Tierärzte nach abgelaufen Spot-ons, sie sind immernoch wirksam, dürfen nur nicht mehr verkauft werden.

We urgently need spot-on products against ticks!

Our dogs are massively attacked by ticks and unfortunately Sri Lankan spot-ons (which are expensive here) do not really help. Three of our dogs are heavily infected with tick fever. Aaron, Abbey and Floh need to get daily injections at the vet. Floh is in very bad shape since one week due to his physical condition from his previous life 😔 We have no idea if he will make it his time…

Please, we urgently need highly effective spot-ons like Frontline, Frontline Plus, Frontline Combo, Nexgard, Advantix etc (spot-on or chewing tablet). They literally save lives here!

If you are travelling to Sri Lanka’s West coast, please bring some for us! 🙏 You can also send them to my German address and I’ll take them with me 🙂please PN me. Also please ask your local vet for expired products, they will give you for free because they are not allowed to sell them anymore.

So kurz vor Heiligabend hatten drei unserer Hunde viel Pech 🙁

…Baby Nui wurde von unseren mittlerweile großen Puppies gebissen und dabei stark am Kopf verletzt. 😢 Nachdem sie beim Tierarzt versorgt wurde erholt sie sich jetzt bei uns Zuhause von ihrem Schock und den Schmerzen.

Unsere große Lady Dana hat ein richtiges „Loch“ in ihrem Bein, verursacht durch einen Abszess. Auch sie war beim Tierarzt.

Ammi hat einen Tumor an der Va**na, sehr wahrscheinlich ein Sticker Sarkom, welcher tierärztlich behandelt werden muss.

Sie alle haben Glück im Unglück weil ihnen geholfen wird 🍀 für uns bedeutet dies aber auch weitere ungeplante Ausgaben 😓

So shortly before Christmas Eve 3 of our doggies had very bad luck 🙁

Baby Nui was bitten by our (in the meantime) other big puppies and heavily injured on her head and neck 😢 after treatment at the vet she is now at our home recovering from her shock and pain.

Our tall lady Dana has a big „hole“ in her leg due to an abscess which bursted. She has also received vet treatment.

Ammi has a tumour at her va**na, most likely TVT cancer which needs to be treated at the vet.

They all are lucky somehow because they get help 🍀 for us this means again unplanned expenses 😓

dieses so zuckersüße Baby wurde wieder vor unserem Tor ausgesetzt 🥺 Wenn wir sie nicht aufgenommen hätten wäre sie jetzt tot. Sie ist noch so klein, höchstens 4 Wochen alt und braucht noch soviel Schutz 😢 Ich würde sie so gerne im Arm halten (wie ich es immer mit unseren Babies mache wenn ich da sein kann) bis sie groß ist…und frage mich, wie hätte sie ohne ihre Mama mit der momentanen Hochwassersituation überlebt? Die Wahrheit ist: Gar nicht! Wie viele, die gerade in den Fluten sterben. Viele werden es nicht schaffen 😢

Welcome Baby Nui ❤️

This sweet baby girl was dumped in front of our gate. If we didn’t take her inside she would have been dead now. She is so small, maybe only 3-4 weeks old. She still needs so much protection. I would love to hold her in my arms like I always do with the tiny ones when I’m there. I always ask myself how would this baby have survived without a caring mum? Reality: There is no chance! Like so many, especially in this flooding, they are lost without help😢
