The Animal Wellness Trust Sri Lanka began in 2017 as a small NO-KILL shelter for abandoned street dogs and cats from the Galle Face Green in Colombo 3, Sri Lanka. As time passed, street dogs and cats from all over Sri Lanka found solace in the shelter; quickly reaching over 100. To address this rapid growth, The Animal Wellness Trust Sri Lanka was officially established in 2019. rescue, rehabilita

te, re-home, and provide shelter to abandoned street dogs and cats
2. afford veterinary care to injured or sick street dogs and cats
3. support the humane population control of dogs and cats through sterilization and neutering, and
4. improve community understanding of abandoned dogs and cats by highlighting the benefits of companionship between humans and animals. Today the shelter provides services to over 300 dogs and cats every year.
