🐾 Dementia in dogs is more common than many pet owners realise.
As our dogs age, changes in behaviour, sleep patterns, memory, and interaction can sometimes be more than just “getting older.” Canine Cognitive Dysfunction (CCD), often referred to as dog dementia, can affect a dog's quality of life and their relationship with the people they love.
Some signs to watch for include:
✔️ Disorientation or confusion
✔️ Changes in sleep patterns
✔️ Increased anxiety
✔️ Forgetting familiar routines
✔️ Reduced interaction with family members
While there is no cure, early recognition and veterinary support can help manage symptoms and keep your senior dog comfortable and happy.
If you've noticed changes in your dog's behaviour, contact your vet. 💚
