Seven Mile Animal Centre will be closing early tomorrow, FRIDAY OCTOBER 3rd from 1 PM.

💊 If you require medication refills for the weekend, please kindly submit them BY 5PM, Thursday, October 2nd.

We will be on call for emergencies only 🩺 and return to regular business hours Monday. 💕

✨Meet the Team ✨ Week 8!

Introducing: Eve!

Originally from Belgium, Eve came to Grand Cayman as a dive instructor and stayed in that industry for 7 years before deciding to swap sea-animals 🐬🐠 for land animals🐶🐱! She is currently studying🤓 to become a veterinary nurse, and loves that she is allowed to cuddle all the patients. She can attest that puppies, kittens and Guinea-Pigs are cuddlier than sea-urchins and barracuda. 😉

✨Meet the Team✨ Week 7!

Introducing: Rebecca! (the human in this pic though of course both are assets to our clinic!)

Also hailing from Ireland, Rebecca graduated as a veterinary nurse in 2022 🎓. She swapped the Emerald Isle for the white sandy beaches of Grand Cayman the following year to join SMAC🌴. Definitely a boffin who loves learning, Rebecca has a particular interest in Radiographs and dentals 🦷, so loves the brand new dental suite we have in the clinic. Both she and all our clients love to show off their smiles after a visit to our dental clinic 🤩

Her animal care journey began working in a shelter in Ireland, and quickly progressed to a love of nursing. We love having Rebecca on the team and your fur babies are always guaranteed cuddles with Rebecca around 🥰

Aaliyah is a Caymanian 🇰🇾 Vet Tech student, currently studying at Guelph in Canada. We had the pleasure of her company this summer as a volunteer in our clinic 💪🏼. Aaliyah brought her contagious smile to work every day and her extra special hidden skillset (scroll to the last slide to see!)✍🏽

✨Meet the Team Week 4!✨

Introducing: Nurse Chloè!

Chloè is originally from the UK 🇬🇧where she worked as a veterinary nurse in small animal clinics across London before relocating to the Cayman Islands three years ago.

Since settling in Cayman☀️, she has developed a deep appreciation for the island’s wildlife and regularly volunteers with local turtle release initiatives—an experience she considers one of the most meaningful parts of her time on the island🐢. Another standout moment in her animal care journey was volunteering with spider monkeys🐒 at a wildlife centre in London, an experience that deepened her passion for animal welfare and hands-on conservation work.

We are so glad to have Chloè on our team and so are our furry friends. 🐶

✨MEET THE TEAM✨ Week 3!

Introducing.. Dr. Laura! 👋🏼

Dr. Laura also hails from Ireland … I guess you could say we have the luck 🍀 of the Irish on our team!

Though only with SMAC for a few months as a Locum Vet, she has settled well into the team, and is already planning her next trip out to explore our lovely island and her newfound love of Stingrays (or as we affectionately refer to them- sea puppies!🐶). It’s no wonder Dr. Laura has taken an immediate liking to our beautiful rays! While with us, she looks forward to meeting as many Island dogs and cats as possible, and perhaps trying to convince her colleagues to let her give consultations on the beach. ☀️🌴

✨Meet the Team✨

🦜Week 2! Introducing- Natalie!

Natalie’s contagious smile is one of the first things that will greet you when you and your fur baby come see us for a visit!

She is an asset💪🏼 to the team managing our front desk and administrative matters. Natalie is Caymanian and has successfully made the transition from teaching high schoolers to management in the world (though admittedly there are definitely some similarities! 🤭) They say never work with children or animals, but she’s 2 for 2! Her love for animals has been cemented through years of working on farms both here in Cayman and in the UK. In particular last year, when she helped an 87 year old shepherdess on a farm in Cumbria, learning her lore over an eventful lambing 🐑 season.

👋🏼 Please say hello to our lovely Dr. Fiona!

Originally from Ireland 🇨🇮 Fiona graduated in 2012 and has worked with small animals ever since. She has a specific interest in exotic animals, especially reptiles & loves caring for creatures of all kinds! She was lucky enough to help a Frigate Bird last year when the DOE needed a specialist to assist with this very unique patient. Fiona has called Cayman home for the past 3 years, where she continues to provide compassionate, high quality care to any animal that walks, hops or slithers through the door!
