Dandelion Mountain Farm

Dandelion Mountain Farm Dandelion Mountain Farm is a small flower farm located on Fort Leavenworth KS. We seek to bring fresh flowers to Fort Leavenworth.

We also make all natural cold processed soap, reusable lunchbox napkins and towels as well as stained glass pieces. Welcome to Dandelion Mountain Farm! Our story began ten years ago in Washington State when we started growing flowers and making jams. These happy creations became a constant in our life as we moved across the country many times. We wanted to share our love of sustainable, local flow

ers and local produce with our community and so the farm was born! We started making all natural soaps (with ingredients we grow and forage) and reusable textiles (no paper towels in our house) to live a more environmentally responsible life. We also started making stained glass pieces for one more artistic outlet the whole family enjoys. We have always been a family who has wanted to make a difference in our community in some way and we hope to incorporate that desire in our farm. We hope that you enjoy what we make. Please follow us on our journey as our farm grows into an actual farm as well as our goal to cultivate, conserve, and renew the world around us (no matter how small). Instagram: dandelionmountainfarm

I should be starting seeds about right now. Sadly, I am not this year. I was not sure what my growing area would look like here in Korea. Was it going to be a balcony in an apartment, a back yard, or a big space like I had in Kansas? None of the above. However, thanks to my lovely friend, Kendra Bock I have a small planter and some pots I can use! Hopefully, I will be able to tuck a few seeds in here and there. For now, I will look at seed catalogs and make lists of what I want to order in the future. Of course I will continue to take this awesome opportunity to go on some pretty amazing adventures... like traveling Thailand and ice fishing in Hwacheon, Korea!

While we continue to get settled (and wait for our things to get here), we continue to explore. Seoul is one of my favorite cities, having visited almost 20 years ago and then a few weeks ago!
I am not sure what the near future holds for the "farm" as it is hard to find supplies here or a patch for flowers for that matter. I may go back to volunteer vet work, who knows? Just trying to remind myself to be flexible. I will keep you posted.

Happy Tuesday from Eastern Kansas everyone. Its been a minute since I have posted anything! It is time for us to close up shop for now as we prepare to move to Korea!
This is not "goodbye", it is just "see you soon". We will be back whether is be from Korea or from a stateside store front. I promise to keep you posted. It has been great fun and thank you all for being on the ride with me. As of today the garden in finished, and the stained glass is put away. However, I still have soap and towels available until June 25 (20% off your purchase with the code KOREA). Then those will be packed away. I promise I will share our adventures from "the land of the morning calm".

The daffodils/narcissus are almost finished for the season. I never thought that I would grow them on a large scale. I have to be honest, I never really liked the daffodils of my youth. I found them too yellow and plain. I am sorry daffodils. I love you now! You come in so many colors and shapes and some of you smell heavenly. Here is to you, flowers of spring. I look forward to seeing you next year.
