Congrats to Hana who showed at the Wine Country Kennel Club’s AKC Open Shows in Napa, CA, and earned Best of Breed (BOB), FSS Group 1, and Best in Open Show (BISO) on Saturday and Sunday!

This summer Pa’a finished his Trick Dog Advanced (TKA) title and also earned the final IABCA evaluations to earn his National Champion (NatCH) title!

This Fall he passed two tests under different judges and earned his Farm Dog Certificate (FDC) on Oct 11th. Then at the Harvest Moon Classic in Santa Rosa he earned the first leg towards his Beginner Novice (BN) obedience title on Oct 18th.

He also showed against Hana and a lovely group of FSS breeds that same weekend and earned Best of Breed (BOB), Best in FSS, and Best in Open Show on Friday the 17th and again on Saturday the 18th. Pending AKC confirmation, he is the 7th Jindo Dog to earn a Certificate of Merit (CM)!

Hana has been having a blast building her hunt drive, and earned her Virtual Scent Work Beginner (VSWB) and Intermediate (VSWI) titles over the summer.

At the Harvest Moon Classic in Santa Rosa she earned her first point toward her Certificate of Merit by placing Best of Breed (BOB) and Best in FSS on Thursday Oct 16th. It was her first AKC show and we’re proud of her performance!

Huge congrats to Rainy on earning her UKC Novice Vehicles (NV) Nosework title and overall Novice Nosework (NN) title! Rainy is the first Korean Jindo Dog to earn Nosework titles in UKC, after being the same first-time titled dog of her breed in AKC Scent Work. Go team!!!

Congrats to Pa on his recent accomplishments in the conformation ring!

One Best in FSS placement at the Sacramento Kennel Club’s Open Shows in Lodi, CA, under judge John P. Wade on Monday, April 14th, and two Best in FSS placements at the Coyote Hills Kennel Club’s Open Shows in Turlock, CA, under judges Cindy Meyer and Ronald Freeman (Saturday May 17th & Sunday May 18th). A total of 5 more points (pending AKC confirmation) toward his Certificate of Merit!

Congratulations to Cosmo on earning his Coursing Ability (CA) title! Each dog runs individually and chases after an artificial lure on either a 300- or 600-yard long course (Jindo Dogs would run 600-yards). For the 600-yard course the dog must finish in less than 2 minutes.

Happy Jindo Dog Day!

May 3rd is the day that the Jindo Dog was designated as the 53rd National Monument of Korea in 1962. During this holiday, events take place in Jindo County where there is a breed promotion center, theme park, museum, and specialized Jindo kennels. This weekend, the county also hosts their annual dog contest in which exemplary purebred Jindo Dogs are judged and rewarded.

Today, we’re sharing an extra special set of photos provided by Minhyuk Choi (최민혁), a dog trainer in Korea who grew up in Jindo County with Jindo Dogs. His photos are a snapshot in time of his and his family’s bond with their dogs, and highlight the importance of understanding the environment and terrain that shaped the Jindo Dog as a breed. Thank you Minhyuk for sharing these photos and allowing us to help share them with the world!

Congrats to Rainy and her owner on earning her Scent Work Interior - Advanced (SIA) title! Rainy is the first Jindo Dog in the history of the breed to title in Scent Work and continues to wow with her progress and achievements!
