Ever since the incident on 18th May 2025, Thailand’s leadership has repeatedly made reckless decisions that have worsened relations between Cambodia and Thailand, decisions that have harmed not just diplomacy but also the Thai people themselves. On the morning of 24th July 2025, Thailand made the fateful decision to invade Cambodian territory intentioanlly.

Since 6:30 a.m., Thai military forces violated existing agreements and deploying drones for two minutes. By 8:30 a.m., Thai troops had fired shots into the sky, and at 8:46 a.m., they officially opened fire near Prasat Ta Muen Thom. The aggression then expanded toward Prasat Ta Krobei and Phnom Kmouch, with F-16 fighter jets entering the conflict. These attacks took place in the provinces of Oddar Meanchey and Preah Vihear. Shockingly, Thai troops also caused deliberate damage to the sacred Preah Vihear Temple, which holds UNESCO World Heritage status. The world knows, Cambodia is using the right of self-defense toward these aggression act.

So, who is to blame? The responsibility lies squarely with Thailand’s leaders, whose oversized egos pushed them to provoke Cambodia. In contrast, Cambodian leaders, Samdech Hun Sen and Samdech Hun Manet, have consistently issued statements urging peace and calling for steps to prevent escalation. Despite these efforts, the arrogance and miscalculation of the Thai leadership have led to needless bloodshed, with dozens of Thai soldiers and civilians killed, and many more injured.

These leaders must face not only international condemnation but also domestic political backlash for their disastrous choices. Their reckless actions have plunged Thailand into chaos, eroding both its stability and credibility.
