The Tension of Beauty Within Silence
Koryu Ikebana carries the spirit of Japan’s samurai culture—a refined aesthetic shaped by discipline, restraint, and balance.
This arrangement is created using a traditional horse bridle fitting as a flower holder, a reminder of the deep connection between Japanese martial culture and the art of flowers.
With only a few carefully chosen materials, every line becomes meaningful. A slight change in angle, the relationship between forms, and the surrounding empty space all contribute to the final composition.
The tall vertical lines, the delicate blossoms, and the intentional emptiness exist in harmony, revealing a beauty that cannot be achieved through abundance alone.
In Koryu Ikebana, the question is not what to add, but what to leave behind.
