We are excited to share some great news with our community. We have welcomed a new veterinarian to our team, which means we now have three doctors and more appointment availability for our patients.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Ivy Rohlwing Cooper.

Dr. Ivy is originally from Iowa and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She brings over 10 years of experience to our clinic and previously served as a medical director in the Denver metro area before relocating to Iwakuni.

Outside of work, Dr. Ivy enjoys spending time with her husband, exploring Japan, and connecting with friends. She loves hiking, reading, board games, and baking, and is the proud pet parent of a Maine C**n named Murphy, the best and bravest boy 😊.

Dr. Ivy looks forward to meeting you and the four-legged members of your family. Call us to schedule an appointment and take advantage of our expanded availability.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Santa Paws event. We had such a wonderful time putting this together and loved meeting all the pets who came out. A special thank you to the American Red Cross for providing the coffee bar and Christmas cards.

We appreciate every family who stopped by and we look forward to hosting this again next year. Merry Christmas from our clinic!

Heads up, PCSing families!

PLEASE do not wait till the week of your fly out date to schedule a health certificate appointment.

Your pet REQUIRES a health certificate to fly out of Japan! As soon as you have your travel dates, please contact us to schedule their appointment. This allows us time to prepare the necessary paperwork and ensure your pet is ready to fly.

If your family is PCSing anywhere other than the continental United States, please give us a call immediately, as your pet may require additional bloodwork and paperwork.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Our Mission

The Iwakuni Veterinary Treatment Facility’s primary mission is to ensure the mission readiness and continued health of our Military Working Dogs stationed aboard MCAS Iwakuni.

Our secondary mission at the Iwakuni VTF, is to provide compassionate medical and preventative care to the Privately Owned Animals who have accompanied their families to Iwakuni, Japan.

The Iwakuni VTF is a by-appointment only facility. We are not an emergency veterinary clinic and strongly encourage you to establish an after-hour emergency pet care plan with an off-base Veterinarian.

Here you will find the most recent information about clinic closures, operational changes and clinic events, so be sure to “Like” and “Follow”. We thoroughly enjoy sharing photos from our events, so please be sure to share them with us.
