For two long years, a Siberian husky named Anatoli lived beneath a car in a school parking lot in the Bahamas. Despite the name-calling and neglect, Anatoli had managed to survive under the sweltering heat of parked cars, scavenging and hiding from people.
Determined to help, Phillips visited the school the very next day with a humane trap. She found Anatoli lying under a car, and to her surprise, he didn’t resist. “It was so easy trapping him,” she told The Dodo. “I think he knew it was his last and only chance to ever escape that place.”
