𝘿𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝙪𝙥 𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙙𝙤𝙜 𝙜𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙩?
Let me be clear, I do NOT enjoy picking up warm p**p in a plastic bag. But I believe as a responsible dog owner, it’s one of those things you must do. Just like you love your dog, feed them, walk them, play with them and take them to the vet when they are sick, picking up after your dog MUST be added to that list.
If your dog p**ped in the house, would you pick it up? So why not apply the same love and care to the outside world, which is every creature’s home.
Here are 3 good reasons to pick up after your dog:
1. Dog p**p is NOT a fertilizer!!! Because of our dog’s diet their p**p is actually highly acidic and can harm rather than help your garden. Leaving dog p**p will destroy nature rather than help it.
2. One gram of dog p**p can contain 20 million f***l coliform bacteria. You might not know your dog has worms or a virus, so leaving your dog’s p**p is directly increasing diseases within your community. This year there has been a rise in distemper and the parvovirus in my city and I am sure a large contributor to that is unpicked p**p. When another dog comes by and sniffs the unpicked p**p, they can catch what ever is there. The cycle keeps repeating itself until we put a stop to it. Don’t forget, when it rains, all that bacteria is now spread all over our city.
3. It is YOUR responsibility as a dog owner to pick up after your dog. This is part of having an animal in your life: you make sure they are healthy, you feed them, you love them and you clean up after them. It’s common courtesy to everyone else. Have you ever stepped in p**p? Trust me it’s disgusting.
Remember, just because there is an empty plot of land, or high grass where no one will step through, it does not mean you don’t pick up after your dog. 𝗗𝗼𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗽 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲!!! Another dog may come by, sniff it and start transmitting diseases. Also, aren’t you worried about your dog picking up a disease from another dog whose owner didn’t pick up after them? Be the good example of a dog parent 💗
We love our dogs, so let’s keep the, healthy!
