Jersey Village Vets Ltd (formerly Allan & Rushton-Taylor) is a long-established Jersey veterinary practice, staffed and equipped to meet all the veterinary and health needs of domestic pets, farm animals and horses. Brelade we pride ourselves on providing good old-fashioned personal care and attention combined with all the latest techniques and knowledge that veterinary practice has to offer. Each

branch is staffed by a small team of vets and nurses, and you will almost always be attended by a vet who knows you and your animals personally. This continuity of care is a great strength of our practice, but we also have several vets with special interests who can combine their talents in appropriate cases to ensure the best possible outcomes for your animals. We provide a full 24 hour emergency service for accidents and emergencies, which can be obtained by dialling any of our surgery numbers and listening to the recorded message. Any pets requiring hospitalisation are accommodated at our surgeries in St. Brelade or St. Clement. Both of these clinics have a resident veterinary surgeon living on the premises. All the vets and nursing team look forward to meeting you and your animals at any of our three premises.

☀️☀️☀️A scorcher weekend is coming our way, so here is a reminder of what to do if you suspect your pet is suffering from heat exhaustion:

• Get someone to call your local JVV branch and tell them you're going to travel down with a heat stroke patient
• Pour, hose or if possible immerse the pet in very cold water (this should obviously be done under constant supervision, ensuring the head is fully above water and immersion should not be attempted if the animal is too large, or you are unable to do so without hurting yourself)
• NB: If using a hose pipe, make sure it has run through until cold, as they can often contain water that is extremely hot in the tubing initially
• Do not drape in towels and leave them in situ. Keep the cold water flowing.
• Move to a cool, shaded area
• Prepare to transport to vets in a cold, air conditioned car

In the coming weeks, it’s meet our branches 😊
Our smallest and probably most idyllic branch is at Ballatrae, St Mary.
We are open from 8.30 to 1 pm from Monday to Friday. The regular vet, as many of our clients already know, is lovely Vicky and many of you will also be familiar with our receptionists, Debbie, Annie and Jenna who take it in turns to look after our St Mary clients ❤️
There is free parking outside the surgery for clients.
If you are trying to call St Mary, you will have to call in the mornings as the phones are diverted in the afternoons.
St Mary is a consulting only branch.
