Jersey Village Vets Ltd

Jersey Village Vets Ltd Jersey Village Vets is a long established independent local veterinary practice. Working from three well equipped surgeries in St. Mary, St. Clement and St.

Jersey Village Vets Ltd (formerly Allan & Rushton-Taylor) is a long-established Jersey veterinary practice, staffed and equipped to meet all the veterinary and health needs of domestic pets, farm animals and horses. Brelade we pride ourselves on providing good old-fashioned personal care and attention combined with all the latest techniques and knowledge that veterinary practice has to offer. Each

branch is staffed by a small team of vets and nurses, and you will almost always be attended by a vet who knows you and your animals personally. This continuity of care is a great strength of our practice, but we also have several vets with special interests who can combine their talents in appropriate cases to ensure the best possible outcomes for your animals. We provide a full 24 hour emergency service for accidents and emergencies, which can be obtained by dialling any of our surgery numbers and listening to the recorded message. Any pets requiring hospitalisation are accommodated at our surgeries in St. Brelade or St. Clement. Both of these clinics have a resident veterinary surgeon living on the premises. All the vets and nursing team look forward to meeting you and your animals at any of our three premises.

It’s National Microchipping Month!!!
Even though it is not a legal requirement to microchip in Jersey, it is if you travel off island, including the UK. Microchips can help if your pet is ever lost, however it is important that the details on it are up to date. Forgetting to inform the microchip company you have change your phone number is one of the biggest problems for missing pets. If you need any support with this, please let us know.
If your pet does not have a microchip this can be done in a normal appointment for the majority of animals, by a vet or a nurse, or while they are in for a procedure.

A huge thank you to the nurses who told us about their roles and favourite part of being apart of the JVV family. Veterinary Nurse Awareness month may have ended, but our gratitude for our amazing team never does.
This is a picture of the badge registered veterinary nurses will obtain once they have completed their qualification.

JVV is on the look out for a Stock Controller!

We are after a new Stock Controller starting in the next few month. Duties include organising stock for our 5 branches, including medication, pet food and pharmaceutical products, negotiating the best deals with wholesalers and ensuring client orders are ready on time. Based at our St Clement surgery, we offer a great salary, flexible hours and staff perks. Though we offer full training, ideally we’re after someone with a pharmacy or medical background, a good understanding of computers and a can do attitude.

In the first instance, ping a letter and CV to [email protected] and we’ll go from there.

Next up for our Veterinary Nursing Awareness month is Eve.
“I moved to Jersey and joined JVV with my rescue dog at the end of March after working 4.5 years in a small animal referral hospital in the UK where I completed my nursing degree. Having only worked in a referral centre I felt a new challenge was needed in the first opinion general practice side of nursing and Jersey Village Vets was perfect for me. I love how varied the nursing role is, all the different skills and out the box thinking we do on a regular basis to provide the best care for each patient and their owners. The JVV community has been so welcoming, it's such a lovely place to be a part of. My nursing interests are Anaesthesia, Emergency and Critical Care, and Behaviour.”

Remember animals can still get hot in the garden or even the windowsill. Unfortunately our furry friends don’t always wish to sit in the shady areas we provide, so ensure you are making them stay in the shade. We have seen a number of animals that have overheated over the bank holiday.
