Start the October Half-Term with a spooky trip to the garden railway. We've had a lot of fun with this one and are keen to share it with you.

HSBA Garden Railway is hosting its last Garden Railway Open Day of the summer on August 30th. Islanders of all ages are welcome to enjoy the miniature railway in St. Mary.

Alongside the trains, guest can experience:
🕹️ Layout with trains the kids can control.
🕵️ The scavenger hunt with a free sweet treat at the end
🧁 Homemade cakes to pair with tea and coffee in the cafe.

Tickets are available through their website (https://gardenrailway.je/visit) with all proceeds from the day going to support the lovely Jersey Rescue Dogs.

We spend so much time trying to fix the horse, spurring them forward, fiddling with the bit, asking for softness, “more forward,” “more round”…
But what if the real fix starts with you?

Small rider imbalances like a heel lifting in the rise, or a pelvis that tips incorrectly in the canter send big signals to the horse. Signals that say:
⚠️ “Slow down.”
⚠️ “Brace.”
⚠️ “Something’s not right.”

It’s no wonder so many horses disconnect, resist, or struggle to “come onto the bit.”
They’re just trying to cope.

When we shift our focus inward on how we move, how we feel, and how we influence the transformation in our horses is undeniable.
💡 Riding becomes clearer.
💡 Communication becomes lighter.
💡 And the horse finally has space to move with freedom.

It’s not just better for their welfare it makes the whole process of riding so much more enjoyable.

On 14th June, the HSBA Garden Railway is opening up to share the miniature world with islanders. It's a lovely experience for the whole family.

The railway is 455ft / 138m and features tunnels, bridges, a koi pond and lots of figures and little buildings.

To help you explore the railway, there is a free scavenger hunt with sweet treat at the end. Refreshments and cakes are also available for guests to enjoy.

All proceeds from the day go to charity.

Next weekend is the HSBA Garden Railway's Winter Wonderland Open Day. There are a handful of tickets left for Friday and Saturday evening for an extremely magical display of model trains and Christmas lights.
