INTRO
Homeopathy is a method of therapy and treatment that can deal with most of the pathologies of dogs, cats, horses, farm animals and exotic animals, restoring a state of well-being and also during serious illnesses.
It is a medicine that has no toxicity or classic side effects of drugs, has a low cost, is integrated with phytotherapy and official medicine and does not present risks of drug interactions.
Homeopathy is a healing method that has the ability to restore the psychophysical well-being of an animal in a gentle and lasting way.
It has different scientific bases from official medicine but is not in opposition, but the two medicines can be integrated.
Its principles are, among other things, the law of similarity and the minimum dose.
In practice, once the patient's pathological history has been collected, a remedy is administered (homeopathic medicines are called "Remedies"), which contains the totality of the symptoms that the patient presents at the time of the visit and which has healing power over the whole individual and not just on the specific disease.
How is all this possible?
For the law of similarity. Now let me explain better. A pure substance has a toxic effect, for example Mercury. This same substance, appropriately diluted and dynamized (ie beaten hundreds of times to charge itself with energy), acquires a healing power precisely for those symptoms it produces during toxicosis.
Let me clarify this somewhat difficult concept with an example.
Mercury taken with fish or during processing in the factory or with dental fillings or with vaccines shows symptoms over time, depending on the dose taken.
To better understand an obvious case, in England in the past centuries, mercury was also used to make the felt inside of the hats. This felt soaked in mercury, when in contact with the scalp, was absorbed and gave rise to a chronic toxicosis with real psychic symptoms, so much so as to inspire a novel "The mad hatter" by Lewis Carroll.
Therefore a substance that produces toxicity, also manifests mental symptoms as well as physical, but at the same time diluted and dynamized can cure these symptoms when they occur in a patient. This was the great intuition of the founding father of Homeopathy, dr. Samuel Hahnemann.
Translating a text of pharmacology he realized that the bark of china, a product used to cure malaria, produced in workers who manipulated it, the same fever with a wave pattern, characteristic of malaria. So the same substance that produces symptoms in massive doses, in minimal doses instead heals.
Returning to mercury, intoxication causes mental symptoms such as shyness, social phobia, depression, irritability, amnesia and mental retardation when taken during pregnancy. Physical symptoms are kidney failure, ataxia (difficulty walking), heart and vascular damage. If these symptoms are present for example in a cat brought to visit, by administering the Mercurius (homeopathized mercury), the remedy, by virtue of its properties acquired during the preparation, will be curative for the law of similarity.
We repeat it, stating it, because now we understand better.
A substance capable of causing pathological symptoms in a healthy subject acts as a curative in a sick person who presents the same symptoms.
It is important that the homeopathic remedy is chosen carefully after a visit. It is therefore an individual remedy, it is not a protocol medicine.
It is possible that two animals with the same pathology, for example two puppies that have taken the gastroenteritis to the kennel, need two different homeopathic remedies, while presenting the same virus, because they will live the disease in two different ways. Or 6 dogs with leishmaniasis, each will have its own remedy because they are different individuals and present the disease each with its own symptoms.
This is another principle of homeopathy: every patient is unique and every remedy has its specific symptoms.
It is therefore important to administer one remedy at a time, in order to assess how healing in the patient evolves.
