PARODI'S CAT REFUGE was founded in 2008 by Sheila Rawden who rescues and takes care of over 100 unwanted and stray cats from areas in and near the village of Parodi Ligure, Italy. PARODI'S CATS REFUGE was started by Sheila Rawden in 2008 when a tiny pregnant cat called Squirt strayed in to her and gave birth to 6 kittens on Sheila's bed. Sheila also has feeding stations in and around the village a

nd she also carries out spay and neutering so vet bills are high along with about 700€ each month for food for 100 cats. So all donations, sponsorships of the cats and joining in the events and auctions on the Parodi's Cats Friendly Fundraisers page are very welcome.

Have so kindly agreed to take Carolyn Checksfield 's Pony PICASSO. Into their care..

It wasn't easy for them, they are about to take in a herd of horses with Stalion / mares.. but my contact Angela was amazing..

Very sympathetic to our cause..

Although Picasso is a riding pony, he's quite feisty and if sold to a family inexperienced in horsemanship... I'm sure he'd end up being past from pillar to post..

Anyway, I'm sure Carolyn would be thrilled to know he'll end his days with lots of friends and will be cared for..

Hillside in Norfolk, have kindly agreed to take our late friend, Carolyn Checksfield'.s pony PICASSO, to live out his days in safety, and be cared for..

Although young. He was quite a handful , and my biggest worry is that he'd be sold to a family with little or no experience in horses / riding.

Hillside have been marvellous, although they are expecting a large group, which includes a stallion and possibly pregnant mares..they've so kindly found a space for him..

He will join then next Saturday

It is with great sadness that I have to tell you, that my dear friend Carolyn Checksfield succumbed to her injuries after falling from her horse and passed away today..

She helped so much with fundraising for my cats and loved her visits to Parodi..

RIP my friend..until we meet again love ❤️
