🇮🇹 Scopriamo insieme le Terre di Canossa! ⛰️

Il castello delle Carpineti 🏰 è un castello medievale costruito prima del 1077 a Carpineti, in provincia di Reggio Emilia.

Fu di proprietà della contessa Matilde di Canossa ed è certo che già nel 1077 papa Gregorio VII vi si rifugiò per difendersi da Enrico IV e da Carpineti stilò numerosi atti del suo Governo. 📜
Il castello venne a collocarsi al centro delle terre della Val d’Enza, e assieme ad altri fortilizi del reggiano era parte del sistema di protezione matildico.

The Castle of Carpineti 🏰 is a Medieval castle built before 1077 in Carpineti, in the province of Reggio Emilia.

It was property of Matilde of Canossa and it is certain that, in 1077, the Pope Gregory VII had already asked for refuge to protect himself from the emperor Henry IV. From there, he draftedd many documents of his administration. 📜
The castle is located in the heart of Val D'Enza and, together with other fortalices of the province, it was part of the Matildic defensive system.

Oggi parliamo della Torre di Rossenella,🗼situata a Rossena, frazione nel comune di Canossa. Essa sorge all'interno della Riserva Naturale Orientata della Rupe di Campotrera 🌱.

Essa ha rappresentato l'avamposto dei castelli di Rossena e Canossa 🏰 e aveva principalmente funzione segnaletica. ⚠️

I nomi della torre e della località in cui è situata derivano dalla roccia rossastra di origine vulcanica 🌋 che caratterizza l'intera area.

Today we will talk about Rossenella Tower,🗼located in Rossena, a hamlet of the nearby Canossa. It is located within the Oriented Natural Reserve of Rupe di Campotrera. 🌱.

For years and years, it served as an outpost for the Canossa and the Rossena castles 🏰 and it primarily had a signaling function. ⚠️

The names of the tower and of the place in which it is located both come from the red-ish, volcanic rock 🌋 which characterizes the whole area.

Cinque le tappe dove gli spettatori vengono trasportati in un altro tempo 🕰️ grazie alla Realtà Virtuale.

📍 La prima tappa un’introduzione al personaggio di Matilde e la sua storia. 📜 Questa prima scena ti mette in diretto contatto con Matilde: è lei a raccontarti la sua vita. Scoprirai i suoi dolori, i suoi sogni e la sua personalità.

Il Castello di Canossa 🏰 è posto sulla sommità di una rupe biancastra di arenaria. Del Castello sopravvive solo l’affascinante rudere, cuore del sito archeologico e culla dello storico episodio del ”perdono di Canossa”. 🙏🏼

🇮🇹 La Virtual Reality è, a tutti gli effetti ,una macchina del tempo! 🕰

Vivere la Battaglia della Nebbia🌫, importante scontro tra gli eserciti dell’Imperatore tedesco Enrico IV e di Matilde di Canossa, è un’emozione unica. ⚔️

❓Sapete perché questo scontro possiede un nome tanto particolare?
👉🏼Perché durante il combattimento si stese per l’aria, d’improvviso, una fittissima nebbia 🌫. Le milizie di Matilde di Canossa, che ben conoscevano il territorio, combatterono coraggiosamente ed il nemico fu bersagliato da dardi e frecce. Questo decretò la vincita dell’esercito della Contessa.

You can experience first-hand the Battle of the Mist 🌫, a crucial fight between the two armies of Matilde of Canossa and the Emperor Henry IV. ⚔️

❓Do you know why this battle has such a peculiar name?
👉🏼 It is because during the battle, all of a sudden, a thick fog started to cover everything🌫. However, Matilde’s army knew those lands and fought bravely, bombarding the enemy with slings and arrows. And this is how the Countess’ army won.
