FREDDIE and his Cool Cats….

All Freddie’s cats were adopted from shelters except for his one pure breed cat Tiffany, which was a gift from Mary. Mary had also bought Tom and Jerry while she and Freddie were together, and by the time Freddie passed they were very old.

Freddie’s absolute favorite was his sweet Delilah, a beautiful calico cat adopted from a shelter. As most of you know Freddie
so loved Delilah he wrote a a song just for her on the Innuendo album (1991)…a very sweet tribute to his girl.

Oscar (the big orange cat) and Tiffany were also adopted prior to 1985.

Romeo was adopted towards the end of Freddie’s life and bullied the other cats. Eventually he had to be adopted out to a new home.

Oscar was said to be one of the most traumatized by Romeo, and kept running away for months. Finally he ran away for good shortly after Freddie’s funeral.

But Oscar’s story doesn’t end there! Oscar was found a few days later living with a family in the same neighborhood. They had been caring for him and felt it was their right to keep him. Mary however went to court to retain ownership.

The 10 Freddie owned over time were Dorothy, Tiffany, Tom, Jerry, Delilah, Goliath, Lily, Miko, Oscar and Romeo. Jim Hutton stated, “Freddie treated the cats like his own children.” ❤️😻🖤😻👑

Se comandasse lo zampognaro
che scende per il viale,
sai che cosa direbbe
il giorno di Natale?
“Voglio che in ogni casa
spunti dal pavimento
un albero fiorito
di stelle d’oro e d’argento”.

Se comandasse il passero
che sulla neve zampetta
sai che cosa direbbe
con la voce che cinguetta?
“Voglio che i bimbi trovino,
quando il lume sarà acceso,
tutti i doni sognati,
più uno, per buon peso”.

Se comandasse il pastore
dal presepe di cartone
sai che legge farebbe
firmandola col lungo bastone?
“Voglio che oggi non pianga
nel mondo un solo bambino,
che abbiano lo stesso sorriso
il bianco, il moro, il giallino”.

Sapete che cosa vi dico
io che non comando niente?
Tutte queste belle cose
accadranno facilmente;
se ci diamo la mano
i miracoli si fanno
e il giorno di Natale
durerà tutto l’anno.
