There where also glances of moments that Ketill Goði showed when just tamed for one and a half month. Then we saw how strong a gait like tölt could become as he would grow stronger with more strength and this essential gait wide open.

One can for now imagine when this young stallion opens up his shoulders in an extensive way and fully grown as strong enough to push his thrust of forward motion on gait like tölt up to his withers with a thrilled motivation. Though it should for now be noted that glances of those magical moments have been seen for short distances as our hearts got instantly devoted.

Here is Ketill Goði ridden on tölt with 120 gr. boots on his front hoofs. That is allowed in a traditional breeding competition.

This photo was taken of this stallion in our last quality review after he had been tamed for almost eight weeks in late june last year.

It's crucial and a great challenge to keep up with his growth as he's getting stronger and more experienced in the whole training process.

Last summer in middle of june when Ketill Goði, as we nicked named this stallion last year, showed very promising movements that year. Then only tamed for almost eight weeks and barely ridden on trot except just for few days before main development of tölt was valued with traditional breedshow boots 120 gr. in weight on his front hoofs. This we did after the trot had been opened enough for a broader effect on the tölt. Though other methods had been utilised before to stretch and open up his shoulders.

Ketill Goði has been in good hands this passing winter and is evolving for broader progress in his gaits. His icelandic trainers have been among the most experienced and competitive in our country. Basic gait like tölt for Ketill Goði is progressing more firmly with a more delicate feeling for reins regarding basic markers for noted gait and trot a bit as well. His stamina is also growing stronger by every passing week. One vital factor has also been unveiled very eager in his character; ..his power for the pace. He becomes very fervent if provoked into a crucial gait like that.

It's always critical when new generations are confirming them selfs in their first weeks of a taming process. There are several things that can make a difference regarding that period of time if tackled correctly. Thus it's important to give their progress the benefit of any uncertain valuation, remiss notion or unaware reactions. That can surely be applied to the actual plan and actions in hand pursuing adversity regarding this stallion with the nickname Ketill Goði as for now.

These are the movements that 'Ketill Goði' showed us after he had been tamed for only eight weeks. Though just a few days before he was ridden more on trot for the first time. Then this arised into his form of 'tölt' as if any longer strides could have been asked for at that time in return. It so widely opened up bigger movements of his shoulders and primarily intrigued also longer motion of his legs. It's a promising development so early in this process. Ketill Goði is also on the photo below this one but in a photoshot at his left side few weeks earlier.

Here is the main breeding dame of Sagahestar as a seven days old foal; Saga Orradóttir f. Hvolsvelli with her mother Smella that was a daughter of Þáttur f. Kirkjubæ and Kolka frá Hólum í Hjaltadal.

Smella's breeding heritage had the original bloodlines of Svaðastaðir as a backbone in her pedigree. Her grandfather Baldur f. Vatnsleysu is a good example of one of those as he had Grásokka 3429 as his mother. She was a honorary awarded dame from one of those essential bloodlines of Svaðastaðir.
