He is the son of the first-class mare Heiður frá Hellulandi (IS2005257429), a proven breeding mare who also produced the first-class stallion Kaldalón frá Kollaleiru and the first-class mare Hugdís frá Völlum.

Sired by the well-known Draupnir frá Stuðlum (IS2009101044), Hlér brings together proven bloodlines and a gentle temperament. Of average size, Hlér is described as being exceptionally easy to handle - almost like he reads his rider's mind. He is cooperative, kind, and responds beautifully to guidance, making him an ideal partner for riders who value trust and connection.

His movements are smooth and expressive, with a particularly soft and high-stepping trot. His tölt is of equally high quality, showing good balance and natural lift. With time and continued training, Hlér has the potential to become a fantastic sport or competition horse, especially suited for younger riders or ambitious amateurs.

🐴Jódís frá Völlum is the mother of two offspring – two geldings sired by Dagfari frá Álfhólum. See photos of these two young guys below.

🐴The older one was born in 2024. His name is Jór frá Völlum IS2024187085. He was born bay dun with no white markings, but his colour today is blue dun – still with no white markings. He is quite tall for his age and has shown both tölt and trot. We have a few pictures of Jór here, but more can and will be taken in the coming days.

🐴The younger one, born in May 2025, this spring, does not yet have a name (although he might end up being called Jórfari). He has the same colour as his mother – just a bit lighter! He is also quite tall for his age and we have more pictures of him as well.

Jódís frá Völlum is a striking buckskin mare, born in 2017. She descends from proven and respected bloodlines, with his dam Kátína frá Flugumýri (IS2004258626) being a daughter of the honorary prize mare Kolskör frá Gunnarsholti. Kátína has produced multiple outstanding offspring, including the first-class mares Sónata and Sinfónía frá Völlum, both known for their exceptional quality and the gelding Kjalar frá Völlum, competition horse in 5-gait and tölt.. Jódís is 142 cm tall and she received a score of 7.94 in the breeding judging.

Jódís is sired by the highly regarded Draupnir from Stuðlum (IS2011187105), and she has many good traces of his father’s charisma and talent. She is extremely docile and easy to handle – her gaits are clean, the rhytm very good. The movements are smooth, light, and elastic, and her carriage under the rider reflects balance, presence, and confidence.

Jódís is a naturally four-gaited horse, very interesting horse to own, suitable for all levels of riders. Her colour is also very special - buckskin, with yellow tone in the colour. She can be used for many different purposes – a reliable horse for kids, good riding horse for all the family members and she has the potential to be a competition horse for the younger generation as well.

Meet Hugdís IS2018287084, our special Horse of the Month for April! She was born in 2018 and comes from Vellir. Hugdís is 1,41m tall and has a pretty chestnut tobiano coat.

Her lineage is impressive, notable from her mother, Heiður IS2005257429, a top-rated mare from Hjallaland, and her sire, Álfgrímur IS2011187660, from Syðri-Gegnishólar.

At her young age, Hugdís is already showing how amazing she is. She received a good score for built (8.04) and moves gracefully. Plus, she is super friendly and loves being around people. She is easy to deal with – calm and a good listener. She is forward-minded, but at the same time easy to control.

If you're looking for a horse with lots of potential, Hugdís is a great choice. Whether you're thinking about breeding horses or competing in five-gaited events, she is a very promising choice.

Kjalar frá Völlum IS2015187085 is a bay gelding with a black mane and tail, 1,42 m tall. He is an offspring of Kátína IS2004258626 from Flugumýri, who is a descendant of the honour prize mare Kolskör frá Gunnarsholt. His lineage includes other notable offsprings such as the first-class mares Sónata IS2012287086 and Sinfónía IS2013287087.

Kjalar is a very talented mature gelding after Kiljan IS2004156286 frá Steinsnes. His movements and shape under the rider remind us very much of Kiljan. He is clean gaited and can make clean gait changes. His trainer mentioned that he has not had a horse in training with such excellent gaits.

He has very high movements, great strides, is forward-minded and is a very promising and respectable competition horse in the future.

He is a five-gaiter – but could also easily be competed in four gaits. Kjalar is a horse for advanced riders, who are looking for a competition horse.

Kjalar is honest in his behavior. His temperament is forward going, but he is responding well to the rider. He doesn't get scared easily and when he is, he will ask support from the rider. Kjalar is well behaved in a trailer and is calm with farrier or veterinarian.

Spes is the offspring of the first-class mare Sónata IS2012287085 from Vellir, which, in turn, was the offspring of Kátína IS2004258626, which was the offspring of the honour prize mare Kolskör from Gunnarsholt Other offsprings from Kátína include the first-class mares Sinfónía IS2013287087 from Vellir and Kjalar from Vellir. Spes is a very talented young mare after Skaginn IS2009101044 from Skipaskagi.

Spes obviously has many qualities from her mother as well as her father. Her movements, her shape under the rider – all remind us very much of her mother Sónata. Her gaits are very clean as well as distinct from each other. Spes has very high movements and great strides and is forward-minded as well but is always easy to control.

Spes is also a very promising breeding mare (rated 8.04 for conformation), and she is a competition horse. She is a five-gaiter (from her father) – but could also easily compete as a four-gaiter.
