As passionate horsemen, all four Eldhestar owners started breeding horses long before Eldhestar developed its breeding programme. Nowadays, not only do they continue to provide us with fantastic, well-rounded horses for our riding tours, they also allow us to benefit from their decades of experience, knowledge and expertise when it comes to breeding.

Hlér frå Völlum is a promising young gelding born in 2019, with a calm mind, good spirit, and natural talent. He is the son of the first-class mare Heiður frå Hellulandi (IS2005257429), a proven breeding mare who also produced the first-class stallion Kaldalón frå Kollaleiru and the first-class mare Hugdís frå Völlum.

Sired by the well-known Draupnir frå Stuðlum (IS2009101044), Hlér brings together proven bloodlines and a gentle temperament. Of average size, Hlér is described as being exceptionally easy to handle - almost like he reads his rider's mind. He is cooperative, kind, and responds beautifully to guidance, making him an ideal partner for riders who value trust and connection.

His movements are smooth and expressive, with a particularly soft and high-stepping trot. His tölt is of equally high quality, showing good balance and natural lift. With time and continued training, Hlér has the potential to become a fantastic sport or competition horse, especially suited for younger riders or ambitious amateurs.
