We HAVE ALREADY FOUND HELP for this winter! 🔎

We are a small farm and hotel (closed during the winter) located remotely in the North West of Iceland. We are looking for someone to help us in the stable and with horse training this winter and possibly for a longer period.
Our farm, Vængsstaðir, is run by us, Alex and Kathi, two experienced horse trainers. We both originally come from Germany and speak German, Icelandic and English. Alex grew up on an Icelandic horse farm and has been working full time with training horses since we moved to Iceland in 2018. Kathi has been working on various farms in Germany, Denmark and Iceland and studied equine science at Hólar University. We are happy to support you in developing your riding skills and growing your knowledge around horses.

What we are looking for:
- Someone who is hard-working and has experience with horses; experience with Icelandic horses is not required but is a plus
- Someone for a minimum stay of 2-3 months, ideally 6+ months
Your tasks:
- Stable work
- Training horses on different levels as well as assisting with the training of young horses
- Helping with stable and hotel renovations
- All daily work around the farm and horses

We always provide food and accommodation as well as the possibility to lend a car for excursions, further details can be addressed later on.

So happy and excited for our dearest friend Lea Busch! 🤩
Neðra-Ás 2 used to be our home for the past 3 years and it was so much fun watching Lea develop and realise her perfect stable there! 🤩

In the middle of a snowstorm on Sunday our Queen Þenja gave birth to this beautiful filly 😍

Both Þenja and the foal are healthy and happy 🙏💕 thank you for taking the best care Lea Busch

We are completely in love with this incredibly beautiful little mare after our Þenja frá Prestsbæ (8,49) and the amazing Hannibal frá Þúfum (8,68) 🖤

We can't wait to see what the future holds for this black beauty 🖤🌟😍

👑 Þenja 👑

Landsmót with and our Queen Þenja frá Prestsbæ🥈

Missing this one a lot in the stable!
But soon it's finally time for our first foal after Þenja to arrive 😍🔜🐴❤️

The foals father is a personal favorite of ours! We've been following with this stallion since he was started under the saddle and believe him to be a perfect match for Þenja 😍 He's got it all, the gaits, looks and mind! He is an extraordinary 4 gait talent and has already been proving so in his first ever competition this winter 🥇😍
