Welcome little mare ❤️

M: Stuld frá Stykkishólmi

1. First try to stand up.
2. Success, first time standing.
3. Skip the walking part. Straight to running and greeting new friends, even though Mama said no.
4. Finally finding the milk bar (that took some time).
5. Discovering the weird looking 2-legged-friend.
6. Formal introduction with mama's permission (a little bribe never hurts).
7. First pets. Such a curious little creature.

A couple of days ago Siggi received a phone call from a very passionate German lady who was upset about the blood-mare industry.

Siggi did his best to explain in English that we are actually a family-run tourism business… and nothing else.

Between the language barrier and the confusion, it was apparently quite an interesting conversation.

Posting this, just so we’re all on the same page. 😅

P.S.: He wants his mash so liquid. It is not my choice. If I don't turn it completely into soup, the good Sir refuses to touch it. I am just a mere servent here, following orders. 🤷‍♀️

A wonderful Woolly-Wednesday everyone!

Today we’d love to introduce you to Dögg (dew). We bought her two years ago, and wow – hands down the best purchase ever. Not only is she absolutely stunning with her thick mane and the cutest little snip on her nose, but she also has the sweetest personality you can imagine. ❤️

Out in the field, Dögg will always come straight over to the humans, clearly hoping for cuddles, scratches, and maybe a treat or two. Thanks to her gentle and patient nature, she can even be ridden by complete beginners and kids. 🫶

The other day, Dögg and her friend Glóð found themselves confused by a half-frozen river. Instead of panicking, this clever little mare decided to involve a human. She led Kim straight to the usual crossing spot, almost as if to say, “Um… excuse me, we have a problem here.”
Then she followed Kim to a different crossing that wasn’t as frozen, let the human test it first, and only then crossed herself without a second thought. 🏞

One smart cookie. 🍪
