شهریور سال ۹۲ بود که آقای محمدی و خانواده که ساکن سوئد بودن، بازدیدی از پناهگاه وفا داشتن، اما تا درِ زمین یک رو باز کردن شالیزار پرید بیرون توی بغلشون.... اونجا بود که تصمیم گرفتن شالیزار رو به سرپرستی بگیرن. روال انجام کارهای اداری برای ورود سگی به اروپا بیشتر از معمول طول کشید و در نهایت در خرداد سال ۹۳ شالیزار کنار خانواده جدیدش در سوئد بود.
حالا یازده ساله که شالیزار با خانواده اش زندگی میکنه. دختر خانواده که اون زمان یک نوجوان بود چندی پیش ازدواج کرد و شب قبل از مراسم در شلوغی و رفت وآمد خونه، شالیزار استرس گرفته بود. تا به حال خونه رو اینجوری ندیده بود. اینجا بود که آقای محمدی شروع کرد شالیزار رو آروم کردن با گفتن داستان آشنایی خودشون با شالیزار در پناهگاه وفا و اومدن او به سوئد با لحنی آروم و متین، و بهش اطمینان داد که عروسی خواهرش باید خوشحال باشه و نگران چیزی نباشه.
این یعنی فرهنگ نگاه به حیوان همنشین به مثابه عضوی از خانواده.

Back in September 2013, Mr. Mohammadi and his family, who were living in Sweden, came to visit Vafa Shelter. The moment they opened the gate of one of the yards, a lively dog named Shalizar leapt straight into their arms. And just like that, the decision was made—Shalizar had found her family.
The paperwork to bring a dog to Europe took longer than expected, but by June 2014, Shalizar was finally home in Sweden, beginning a brand-new life surrounded by love.
Eleven years have passed since then. Shalizar has grown up alongside her family. The little girl of the house, a teenager back when they first adopted her, is now a young woman—she just got married.
On the night before the wedding, with all the commotion and excitement in the house, Shalizar grew anxious. She had never seen her home so busy. That’s when Mr. Mohammadi sat beside her, gently soothing her with the story of how they first met at Vafa Shelter, how she had come to Sweden, and how this wedding was a joyful moment. His calm voice reassured her: her sister’s big day was something to celebrate, not to fear.
This is what it means to see a companion animal not just as a pet, but as a true member of the family.
