Case history :-
An outbreak raised after heavy full rainfall period , among 500 villages some Land - some hill area and mountain villages sheep and mostly goat start showing sing of anorexia , red - brown urination
Clinical signs
Anorexia , emaciation , hematuria / hemoglobinuria , ichthus mucus members , body temperature 37-38,5 c , solid rumen , sternal recumbency, head upward and opens mouth , asphyxia, 3-7 disease duration , mortality rat 7-10% morbidity rate 5%
Post mortem findings:-
1- ichtrus ( yellow carcasses , )
2-pulpy kidney red- black color blood in pelvis
3- normal size spleen
4- red consolidation of accessory part of lung ( one of carcasses )
5- urine drained from gallbladder it’s normal yellow color
6- emaciated animals
Laboratory test and results :-
1-Blood hemoglobin 10-11.5
2-Urine RBC ++ 2
3-He hematuria
4-clear on sensitivity test
Drugs used
1- imidocarb 0.5 S.C ml as preventative dose
2- dimenazine 4 ml
3-amoxicillin 5 ml 3 d
4 - oligo vet 5 ml 3 d
5- fe 4 ml single dose
( absence or no response to treatments )
Note - at final stag urine return to normal color but anorexia continue
*** later a single dose oxy tetracycline 20% 5 ml injection stop illness but diseased animals die
