Faculty of Veterinary Medicine- Basra
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was founded in 1993 and aimed for creating scientific veterinary medicine cadres who can contribute in the prevention of animal diseases, diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The Faculty also contributes in the areas of public health which are related to the fight against the common Zoonotic diseases which are transmitted from an

imals to humans and also in the monitoring of food of the animals origin. In addition to working with the institutes and animal production research centers the Faculty provides counseling and treatment services for entrepreneurs, animal husbandry, poultry, and the relevant government departments through the center of the Scientific Advisory Services of the Veterinary Medical College. The students in the last years of their study are trained in the animals’ education field as well as in veterinary hospital of the Ministry of Agriculture. Teaching language in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is in English and Arabic languages.
