Professor Shantanu Bhowmick is the departmental head of aerospace engineering in Coimbatore's Amrita University. He has designed the bullet-proof jacket for India Army.
This jacket will be made from indigenous ultra modern lightweight thermoplastic technology.It has received the government's approval and the task of manufacturing the jacket will begin once the PMO gives the green signal. Currently, jackets are imported from America and it cost around 1.5 lakhs on a single jacket. Dr. Bhowmick's jacket will cost only Rs 50,000 per jacket. That means India will save Rs 20,000 crores every year.he present bullet proof jackets being used by our jawans in the Army, BSF, CRPF and Police are heavy, weighing anywhere between 15-18 kgs.These new light weight jackets weigh 6-8 times less at just 1.5 kg.It has 20 layers and the carbon fiber in it will enable the jacket to work in 57 degrees Celsius also.The professor dedicated his invention to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

On the Eve of World Environment Day Celebrations on 5th June 2017,THE ZOO BRIGADE is proud to announce to conduct one day Interactive Workshop session with the consent of Indira Gandhi Zoological Park Management, Visakhapatnam at BIOSCOPE on 04-06-2017.
The details of the Program is as follows.

ACTIVITY : Interactive Workshop On the Eve of
“World Environment Day”
Date & Time : Sunday, 4th June, 2017, between
9.30 to 13.00
Venue : BIOSCOPE, INDIRA GANDHI ZOOLOGICAL PARK, VISAKHAPATNAM

Tentative Schedule
 Reporting time of Registered Participants is 09.30am –10.00 am.
 One topic will be given to each group.
 15 mins will be given to each group to make a discussion.
 Justification Speech will be given by Best Environmental Persons in the Society.
Note:
 11 th standard to Under graduates are eligible to Participate.
 Interested Participants can be registered at Asst Curator office, Zoo Main gate, IGZP VISAKHAPATNAM.
 Registration Fee Rs.50/-
 Registration closes at 3rd June 2017, 5.00 pm.
 Registrations are limited to 50 participants only.
 Certificates will be given to each participant.
