Humanity Still Lives in Some Hearts ❤️🐾

In a world where many choose to look away, there are still people who choose kindness. This story is about one such uncle who didn’t ignore a crying, injured puppy lying helpless on the road. The poor soul had been hit by a vehicle, its leg badly injured, screaming in pain. But instead of walking past like most would, he stopped… and he cared.

He gently picked the puppy up and decided to get him treated. On the way, he met a friend who happened to be a veterinary doctor. Without wasting a moment, he requested him to treat the puppy, promising to pay whatever it would cost. The doctor treated the little one, did the bandaging, even stitched the wounds and only charged ₹400 for the medicines.

That night, despite being scared of dogs himself, the uncle kept the puppy safe with him. The next day, after learning about us, he left all his work and brought the puppy to us for proper care and treatment.
This is your reminder… humanity still lives in some people in this world. 🐶❤️

Apomorphine Injection Explained: When It Saves Lives and When It Can Be Dangerous

Apomorphine is a veterinary emergency medicine used in dogs to induce vomiting in a controlled and safe way 💉🐶

It works by stimulating the vomiting center in the brain 🧠, helping the dog quickly expel harmful or indigestible substances before they pass into the intestines. In most cases, the dog starts vomiting within 3 minutes ⏱️

This injection is most useful when a dog has recently swallowed something like socks, plastic, toxins, or unwanted objects ⚠️ If used at the right time, it can prevent serious complications such as intestinal blockage or even surgery.

However, it is not safe in every case and should only be used by trained professionals 👨‍⚕️

🚫 Do NOT use Apomorphine if the dog has ingested:• Sharp objects like bones, needles, or glass• Chemicals such as petrol, acid, or cleaning agents• Large objects that may get stuck while coming back• Anything swallowed many hours earlier

⚠️ It is also risky for weak, unconscious, or breathing-compromised dogs.

Wrong use can lead to serious complications like aspiration, where vomit enters the lungs 😷

💡 The key message is simple: inducing vomiting is a medical decision, not a home remedy. Proper timing and correct usage make this injection life-saving.

You’ve Seen the Video, Now Let’s Talk About Distemper

Many of you must have already seen that video circulating recently.
A lot of you even shared it with us, asking what’s really happening.

The video talks about a serious disease called Distemper, and the reality is, it’s not just a video. It’s something we are witnessing on the ground every single day.

At our shelter, we continuously receive dogs showing symptoms of Distemper, whether they are stray dogs or even pets. The most heartbreaking part is that there is no exact cure for this disease. Once symptoms start appearing, saving the dog becomes extremely difficult.

But this is where awareness becomes important.

Vaccination is the only effective way to prevent Distemper. That’s why we make sure every rescued dog at our shelter receives the 5 in 1 vaccine, which also protects against Distemper.

Recently, our team conducted a small vaccination drive in the Kasol area, where we vaccinated more than 50 dogs. It is a step forward, but not enough to stop the spread completely.

To actually control this, mass level vaccination drives are urgently needed.
And the biggest challenge behind this is funding.

We are a small organization, which means we are unable to buy vaccines in bulk or reach every area that needs immediate attention.

But with your support, we can do much more.

If anyone wants to contribute through vaccine sponsorship or fundraising, our team is fully ready to expand these drives on the ground.

Awareness is the first step. Together, we can stop this.

3 Days of Struggle… One Life Saved

In Part 1, you saw how difficult it was for us to even get close to him.A scared street dog in Manali… with a porcupine quill painfully stuck deep inside his nose. We tried on Day 1 and Day 2, but every time we got close, he ran away. The pain, the fear, and the distance made it almost impossible.

But we didn’t give up.

On Day 3, we returned once again, this time with more patience and a calm approach. No rush, no noise… just quiet teamwork. And finally, after days of struggle, we managed to catch him.

What we saw was heartbreaking. The quill had gone nearly 6 inches deep into his nose. Carefully and safely, we removed it and immediately took him to our clinic. He was given proper treatment, vaccinated, and also sterilized to ensure a healthier life ahead.

After everything he went through, we released him back to the same place he belongs to… free from pain.

This is why we never stop trying. Because every life matters.

A Pain No One Could See | Rescue Attempt Day 1 & 2

We received a call about a street dog in Manali
A porcupine quill was painfully stuck in his nose, and he was struggling every moment.

We reached the location as fast as we could, hoping to rescue him in time.On Day 1, we tried everything, but he was too scared, too alert, and clearly in pain. Every time we got close, he ran away. We had to step back, even though it was hard to leave him like that.

On Day 2, we went back again, more prepared and more determined. But once again, things didn’t go as planned. Before we could reach him, he had already disappeared. We searched the area, waited, and asked people around, but there was no sign of him.

Watching an animal suffer and not being able to help immediately is one of the toughest parts of rescue work.
Still, we keep going, because every life matters.

To be continuedFollow for Part 2

Don’t Ignore Small Wounds in Dogs, it Can Turn Into a Dangerous Maggot Infection

Summer is here, and with rising temperatures comes a problem we see very often in dogs – maggot wounds. Many people don’t realize how quickly this condition can develop.

During the summer season, flies become very active. If a dog has even a small injury, flies can lay eggs on the wound. Within a short time, those eggs hatch into maggots that start feeding on the dog’s skin. What begins as a tiny wound can slowly turn into a severe and painful maggot infection.

If the dog doesn’t receive treatment in time, the number of maggots keeps increasing. This makes the dog weaker day by day, and in some cases, it can even become life-threatening.

The good news is that this problem is preventable. If your pet dog gets even a small injury, never ignore it. Clean the wound, seek proper treatment, and keep monitoring your dog carefully.

We can also help stray dogs around us by being more aware. Your small act of kindness and care can save a life. If you ever see a dog suffering from a maggot wound, please don’t ignore it. Help them get treatment as soon as possible.

If needed, you can also reach out to us for help.

Parvo is Taking Lives — Vaccinate Before It’s Too Late 💔🐾

Right now, we are dealing with multiple cases of parvo, one of the deadliest viral infections in dogs, especially puppies. Most of these little souls are just 2–3 months old, the age when they should be protected, not fighting for their lives.

The common reason behind these cases is lack of awareness about vaccination. Many pet owners either delay vaccines or are unaware of the complete schedule, especially booster doses. A single vaccine is not enough, proper immunization requires timely boosters to build strong immunity against dangerous diseases like parvo and distemper.

These puppies come to us with severe symptoms, vomiting, diarrhea (often with blood), weakness, and dehydration. They need constant care, IV drips twice a day, and still, survival is never guaranteed. It’s heartbreaking to see such young lives struggle when this suffering could have been prevented.

At the same time, while pet dogs are getting treatment, countless stray puppies suffer silently on the streets with no help at all. Many don’t survive.

We request every pet owner: please vaccinate your puppy at the right age (starting around 45 days) and never skip booster doses. A small cost today can save you from emotional pain, heavy expenses, and most importantly, save your pet’s life.

Prevention is always better than cure. Don’t wait for symptoms, act early, act responsibly.
