Where is this blog heading? What it its purpose? Today I am talking a little bit about why I started it and why it is important to teach and write about horsemanship in India and for Indian horse riders and horse owners.

My blog has been up and running for more than one year now and it is time to pause and give some thoughts to the direction it has taken and some to the path it hopefully will proceed on in the future. I have always hoped to be part of a change. A change in...

My first year with Rajmani has passed and it is time for another update. From a difficult horse with trust issues and an attitude of insolence, he has become a reliable riding horse. We have had a lot of first times again and he has been really good.

One Year with Rajmani has passed without me noticing. From a difficult horse with plenty of issues, he has morphed into a fun horse.

The preparation of weaning our foals is an important step in our foal training and helps in getting them ready for it and preparing them for a life without their mothers.

Weaning is one of the biggest events in the life of our foal. The preparation of weaning the foal can help in making it less hard for him.

Equestrian Yoga is a combination of yoga and horse riding and it focuses not only on exercising but also on deepening the connection between horse and rider. Thus it is a great addition to our daily work with our horse, helping us in our horsemanship!

Equestrian Yoga is the combination of two great activities, horse riding and yoga. I recently discovered how well both go together.

Rajmani continues to be on course in his making of a riding horse! He took a backseat when I was busy with trail rides in November and December but is back regularly under the saddle now.

Rajmani is back on my agenda and the making of a riding horse continues. He still has many issues but things are improving.

Your foal is there and we can begin our task to turn them into a well-behaved riding horse by starting with the Foal ABC. I am writing today about what I do with my foals during the first months and what foals of this age can and should learn!

The first training of foals is called Foal ABC. It includes the first exercises a foal should learn and get comfortable with.

Ever tried our jousting with your horse?
One of my favourite interviews of the Adventures on Horseback Virtual Workshop is the one with Karl Ude-Martinez, a stunt rider and founder of the Knights of Middle England! Karl trains riders in jousting, horseback archery and trick riding and talks about why you should try out different activities with your horse and how that can help in becoming a better rider! 🐎

Fear in the Saddle
A topic which is not often talked about and which is more common than you think. I talk about fear in the saddle, what you can do about it and about my own experiences with fear.

Before I will continue with the foals, I want to blog about a topic which is close to my heart. I want to talk about fear in the saddle, about the anxiety, a lot of riders experience when they ride their own horse or sit in the saddle of a new horse. Fear is an...
