In collaboration with the Telangana Forest Department, our team visited Mahavir Harina Vanasthali National Park on 3.02.2026. The visit was facilitated by Shri Sai Prakash ji, FRO, MHVNP, Vidya Sagar ji, S.O., Ms Sarita ji, B.O., on the instruction of the DFO, Ranga Reddy Shri. Rohith Gopidi ji, thankful for his kind guidance of the Department.
During our field assessment, we identified the alarming presence of several invasive alien plant species that are exerting ecological pressure on native biodiversity. These include:
• Prosopis juliflora
• Lantana camara
• Hyptis suaveolens
• Alternanthera sessilis
• Chromolaena odorata
• Cenchrus pedicellatus
These invasive species are known to suppress native flora, alter soil chemistry, impede natural regeneration and disturb wildlife habitats. Their unchecked proliferation poses a serious threat to the ecological integrity of this vital urban forest landscape.
We are now prepared to initiate structured eradication and ecological restoration measures in close coordination with the Forest Department. Our proposed intervention will focus on scientific removal, community engagement, awareness campaigns and long-term habitat restoration through native species regeneration.
Protecting our forests is not merely an environmental obligation—it is a moral imperative for future generations. Together, through collaborative action and informed stewardship, we can restore the natural resilience of our protected landscapes.

Day 18. Persistence pays off. 💚

In between back-to-back election codes—Gram Panchayat first, Municipality next—and after countless rounds of meetings with the Municipality, College Management, Police, Revenue, Agriculture and Forest Departments, the effort finally bore fruit.

With the energy of students and the solid backing of college management, Eco Fawn Society successfully cleared the campus of invasive alien w**ds. 🌿✊
What was once overrun is now reclaimed.

This wasn’t just a cleanup.
It was coordination, commitment, and collective will in action.

The next phase is already in sight—
✔ clearing debris
✔ leveling the land
✔ restoring the campus for long-term ecological health

Proud of what collaboration can achieve—even when the odds (and codes!) are stacked against you. The journey continues. 🌍

When students lead, nature heals. 🌱✨
