🌿🦅 International Vulture Awareness Day 2025 🦅🌿

Today, Bengal Safari organized an educational and awareness programme on the occasion of International Vulture Awareness Day.

Students and teachers from Ektiasal Tileswari Adhikari High School and the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalp of Ramakrishna Ashram, Siliguri actively participated in the event.

The day’s highlights included: Educational Safari Tour, Visit to the Vulture Enclosure, Awareness Session, Brochure Distribution, Interactive Activities & Certificate Distribution.

The aim of this programme was to spread awareness about the ecological importance of vultures and to encourage students to connect more closely with nature and wildlife conservation.

Vultures are nature’s clean-up crew — protecting them is our shared responsibility.

🌿🦅 আন্তর্জাতিক শকুন সচেতনতা দিবস ২০২৫ 🦅🌿

আজ বেঙ্গল সাফারিতে, আন্তর্জাতিক শকুন সচেতনতা দিবস উপলক্ষে একটি শিক্ষামূলক ও সচেতনতামূলক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়।

এই অনুষ্ঠানে অংশগ্রহণ করে Ektiasal Tileswari Adhikari High School-এর ছাত্রছাত্রী ও শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকারা এবং রামকৃষ্ণ আশ্রম, শিলিগুড়ি-এর গদাধর অভ্যুদয় প্রকল্পের ছাত্র ও শিক্ষকেরা।

দিনটির বিশেষ কার্যক্রমগুলোর মধ্যে ছিল- শিক্ষামূলক সাফারি ভ্রমণ, শকুনের এনক্লোজার পরিদর্শন, শিক্ষামূলক আলোচনা, ব্রোশিউর বিতরণ, ইন্টারঅ্যাকশন ও সার্টিফিকেট প্রদান।

এই উদ্যোগের মূল উদ্দেশ্য ছিল শকুনের পরিবেশগত গুরুত্ব সম্পর্কে সচেতনতা বাড়ানো এবং শিক্ষার্থীদের প্রকৃতি ও বন্যপ্রাণী সংরক্ষণের সঙ্গে আরও ঘনিষ্ঠভাবে যুক্ত করা।

শকুন প্রকৃতির পরিচ্ছন্নতার রক্ষক — তাদের সংরক্ষণ আমাদের সবার দায়িত্ব।

On the occasion of International Tiger Day 2025, Bengal Safari organized an engaging and educational programme at Ektiasal Tileswari Adhikari High School to promote awareness on tiger conservation and highlight the significance of preserving our national animal.

The event commenced with a vibrant Tiger Mask Parade, followed by welcome addresses and inspiring speeches by the Assistant Director of Bengal Safari and the Headmaster of the host institution. Their addresses emphasized the vital role of community awareness in wildlife protection.

The cultural segment featured: poetic recitations by students and Bengal Safari staff, thoughtful storytelling sessions, a compelling dance drama titled “Saving Our Stripes”, promoting a conservation message through performing arts
Participants also enjoyed a screening of the Bengal Safari Theme Video and the documentary “The Life of a Tiger.”
A special Zoo Keeper’s Talk was presented, offering valuable insights into the care and management of tigers in captivity.

The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony for participating students, a pledge to protect wildlife, and a group photograph at the designated selfie zone.

আন্তর্জাতিক বাঘ দিবস ২০২৫ উপলক্ষে বন্যপ্রাণ সংরক্ষণ বিষয়ে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধির লক্ষ্যে বেঙ্গল সাফারি এক বর্ণাঢ্য ও জ্ঞানভিত্তিক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে একটিয়াশাল তিলেশ্বরী অধিকারী হাই স্কুল-এ।

অনুষ্ঠানের সূচনা হয় প্রাণবন্ত বাঘ মুখোশ শোভাযাত্রা-র মাধ্যমে।
এরপর বেঙ্গল সাফারির সহ-পরিচালক ও বিদ্যালয়ের প্রধান শিক্ষক উদ্বোধনী ভাষণে বাঘ সংরক্ষণের গুরুত্ব ও সমাজের ভূমিকা তুলে ধরেন।

সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানে ছিল –ছাত্র-ছাত্রী ও কর্মীদের কবিতা আবৃত্তি, শিক্ষণীয় গল্প বলা, পরিবেশিত হয় এক অনবদ্য নৃত্যনাট্য “সেভিং আওয়ার স্ট্রাইপস”, যা নৃত্যনাটকের মাধ্যমে সংরক্ষণের বার্তা দেয়।
দর্শকরা উপভোগ করেন বেঙ্গল সাফারি থিম ভিডিও ও তথ্যচিত্র “দ্য লাইফ অফ আ টাইগার”।

অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ Zoo Keeper’s Talk এর মাধ্যমে বাঘের পরিচর্যা ও ব্যবস্থাপনার বিষয়ে অভিজ্ঞতা ভাগ করে নেওয়া হয়।

অনুষ্ঠানের শেষে শিক্ষার্থীদের সংবর্ধনা, বন্যপ্রাণ রক্ষার শপথগ্রহণ এবং সেলফি জোনে সমবেত ছবি তোলার মাধ্যমে দিনটি সম্পন্ন হয়।

"Adopt an Animal, Contribute to Conservation!"

Bengal Safari (North Bengal Wild Animals Park) is pleased to recognize Shri Aman Kumar Kataria, Kaushambi, Gaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, for his generous adoption of two numbers of Indian Black Turtle for one year. The adoption certificate was presented by Shri Abhishek Chowdhury, WBFS, Assistant Director of Bengal Safari (N.B.W.A.P) in appreciation of his contribution towards wildlife conservation.

Through this initiative, Shri Kataria is helping to ensure the care and well-being of this magnificent species. We invite others to join the mission by adopting an animal and supporting our ongoing conservation efforts.

🌍✨ North Bengal Wild Animals Park, Siliguri proudly celebrated World Environment Day 2025 with vibrant participation and environmental spirit!

🗓️ Theme: "Ending Plastic Pollution Globally"

🌱 The celebration began with a ceremonial plantation program inside the park, encouraging the importance of afforestation and greenery.
🎙️ This was followed by a motivating keynote address by the Assistant Director, NBWAP, who emphasized the urgency of curbing plastic pollution and called for eco-conscious living.

💚 Students from Salugara High School, Salugara, and Indramaya Primary School, Singijhora, along with several independently participating students, actively took part in the day-long programs and awareness drives.

The lineup of activities included:

🪱 Interactive session on Vermicomposting – educating participants on sustainable waste management.
🎨 Beautification with Old Tyres – showcasing innovative upcycling ideas for garden décor.
♻️ Plastic Reuse Demonstration – promoting alternatives to single-use plastic items.
📝 Slogan Writing & Poster Making Competitions – allowing students to creatively express their thoughts on saving the planet.
📣 Visitor Awareness Campaign – spreading crucial messages to park visitors about responsible plastic use and lifestyle changes.

North Bengal Wild Animals Park Celebrates International Day for Biological Diversity🌎🌿🦋🐝🦚🐅🐢

North Bengal Wild Animals Park, Siliguri, proudly observed the International Day for Biological Diversity with enthusiastic participation from the students of Darjeeling Public School, Fulbari and children from "Bibek Vaskar" by Ramakrishna Mission, Narendrapur.

The event commenced with a keynote address by the Assistant Director, NBWAP, followed by an insightful presentation on the theme “Harmony with Nature and Sustainable Development” delivered by the Education Assistant, NBWAP. The day also featured an engaging Keeper’s Talk, educational activities, and a guided zoo tour, offering students a deeper understanding of biodiversity and its importance.

All participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their enthusiastic involvement, by the Director & AssistantDirector, NBWAP. The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by the Zoo Biologist, NBWAP.

Hon’ble Minister Smt. Birbaha Hansda Inaugurates Combo Safari Gate at North Bengal Wild Animals Park:

Today(27.03.2025), Smt. Birbaha Hansda, Hon’ble Minister of State (IC), Department of Forests and Department of SHG & SE, Government of West Bengal, visited North Bengal Wild Animals Park (Bengal Safari), Siliguri. During her visit, she engaged in discussions on staff welfare and the park’s future development, reaffirming the government’s commitment to conservation and sustainable growth.

A significant highlight of the event was the inauguration of the new Combo Safari Gate, marking a step forward in enhancing visitor experience and wildlife management within the park.
