The Californian quails had ruined this planted aviary... However, now that the quails have been moved to the new walk-in aviary, I started replanting the aviary... There is still a lot of work to be done.

I want to keep a few Australian finches or a pair of Galah cockatoos... I love Galahs.

I feel soo shamelessly proud to show you a few pictures of our walk-in aviary...

We have just introduced a few budgies and few African ring neck doves as test birds a few days back... And to watch them disappear into the sea of green is something soo ... Magical.

Even the introduction of birds into an aviary of this size is a task... If I just introduced a budgie into this aviary without the required training, it would try to fly, fall down and hurt itself. The budgies here must have been bred in cages no bigger than 4 feet in length for many many generations ... We had to first get them used to flying in a 8 feet enclosure and then a 25 feet enclosure and finally the 90 feet enclosure.... However, once they are here, it is a treat to watch them fly.
