Karma Animal Trust Rishikesh We feed, rescue & treat street animals, and sterilize & vaccinate street dogs in Rishikesh, India. We spay/neuter around 25 dogs each month.

KAT is an NGO registered in India and run by a team of animal lovers. We have been providing medical care to Rishikesh street animals since 2014, and running a spay/neuter program since 2016. Sterilizing street dogs is our central focus because it is the most effective way to improve the quality of their lives. Along with that, we rescue & treat dogs, cats, cows, and other animals, daily feed 300+

street dogs, run vaccination drives, and re-home rescued dogs locally and abroad. In our work we cover 5 large areas of Rishikesh: Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Tapovan, Kailash Gate, Shisham Jhari. Over the years, hundreds of street animals have been rescued and treated. The vast majority of female street dogs have been sterilized. Many dogs have found loving homes, in India & abroad. We work year-round with local government vets, and we also invite foreign vets and vet nurses from abroad. Our goal is to make Rishikesh a safe and friendly place for animals, and to raise awareness about animal welfare.

Goodbye Bharti Baba 🙏🤍

This week, Rishikesh lost a true gem, Bharti Baba. 💔

We have known him for the last 12 years. A kind, spiritual practitioner who shared his little hut and his big heart with his furry companions. Whether it was a tiny, abandoned puppy or a struggling, senior dog, Baba ji gave shelter and care to whoever needed it. ❤️‍🩹

We feel honoured to have witnessed a part of his inspiring and meaningful life. We and his furry family will miss him so much. 🤍

Please send love and prayers for Babaji's soul. 🕊️

LADOO'S TRANSFORMATION! ✨

A month ago, we got an emergency call for Ladoo who was in severe pain, unable to get up and move. 💔

We visited him daily to give him the life-saving medical care he needed, while his caretakers made sure he was kept safe and warm. ❤️‍🩹

Finally, Ladoo has beautifully recovered and is back to being the playful dog we knew him as! 🐾
