why do people not prefer indies/rescues as pets?
surely there has to be a good reason, right?

*cough* *cough* you just want a status symbol as a pet/you only know how to love someone who looks/behaves a certain way

grow up, adopt your pets - there’s no such thing as ethical breeding!!!! stop the facade.

I can’t pretend anymore that I’m happy to see your breed pet (unless its a rescue) because that could’ve been an indie instead - the one who’s probably still out on the streets surviving hunger, danger and cruelty every single day.

and why? give me one good reason why people choose to buy pets as if they’re ‘something’. looks? indies are prettier and more unique - next. temperament? indies are just as easy to train and handle. more loving? indies actually know the value of your love because almost all of them have lived a life when there was none.

seems like a you problem if you have to buy a pet to buy its affection🤷‍♀️

im not hating on the breeds - those are also just babies who deserve better. it’s your fault as the human if you’re choosing to buy a puppy/kitten from a breeder despite knowing what they do to the poor mothers of these babies. its your fault as the human if you’re choosing to buy a breed that’s going to be miserable in the Indian climate. it’s your fault as the human if you’re choosing to buy a breed that’s guaranteed to have health problems in future. and lastly, it’s your fault as the human if you’re choosing to buy a breed only to realise that they’re not a toy but an actual responsibility and then abandoning/getting rid of them.

it’s 2026. Do better. Adopt, Don’t Shop. Give a chance to Indies!!!

Bento’s STILL up for adoption!!

he’s based in Pune but his adoption is open pan india.

Bento is a 6 month old ginger male kitten. he’s litter trained, dewormed, vaccinated and neutered.
he’s very friendly, super playful and gets along really well with other pets. he’s extremely patient with other pets and understands boundaries if the cat isn’t ready to be friends just yet.

he’ll be a perfect addition to any home but we’re preferably looking for a home with another cat/s. however, we’re always open to a single cat household application as long as its a genuine and responsible home.

life of an introvert ft Bento boy

someone adopt him please😭
he’s 6.5 months old, litter trained, dewormed, vaccinated and to be neutered. he loves other cattos (he just got stage fear here) and is a very friendly and gentle boy. if you’re looking for a companion for your cat, he’s the one. he’s also very funny as you can see in this post. he’s up for adoption in Pune/Mumbai/Bangalore/Delhi (willing to consider pan india if the family has a pet cat). travel costs are on us!
