Snakes plays important role in the ecosystem. The benefits from the reptilians always out ways the harm especially for the farmers community. So inculcate the sense of snake being friend of farmers. Identification, precaution and self protection are the keys to coexist with snakes.Protect the snakes for the health of ecosystem.

Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park & Wildlife Research Centre successfully implemented animal exchange program with Trivandrum Zoo, Tiruvanntapuram. We got new guest in our collection, a pair of Gaur and Hyena. The Hyenas for the first time in our collection would be on public display soon in new facility. The Pair of Gaur was badly needed as the lonely male had been behaviourally unstable owing to lack of conspecifics. It will certainly add display value of the species. The program was one of the most difficult in the last 20 yrs. But we did it with precise accuracy.

Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park observed phenomenal footfall in the first quarter of the year just after the Zoo reopening after recovery from covid pandemic. The fascination for the Zoo kept rising right from the day one of opening. Visitors from the different walks of life turns up the zoo to watch beauty of wildlife and natural surroundings. We are focusing on bringing in faunal diversity and upgrading the public amenities for the pleasant experience of visitors. We are commited to keep our precious wildlife and visiting guest contended through the dedicated services from our staffers who works tirelessly beating all odds. In a days to come we will be adding more wild attractions to meet the growing demand of visitors from Pune and across the state. Thank you each and every one of you for your unconditional love towards Rajiv Gandhi Zoo.

Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park celebrated Wold Environment Day with students of Abeda Inamdar and H.V Desai college from Pune.The students and college faculty actively engaged in cleanliness drive and plantation program. In-house session also attended by over 100 participants. This was a small effort towards spreading awareness for the cause of nature conservation|

Today Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park & Wildlife Research Centre observed unprecedented record visitor footfall of 22156.
This is the historical highest single day visitor footfall recorded at Zoo.

On 22 April 2022 we celebrated first physical event with the students in last two years 'The World Earth Day'. No in person educational activity could be organised for past 24 months owing to the closure of Zoo due to covid pandemic. The zoo recently opened up last month for the visitors. Also we decided to have event celebrations with students to fulfill the objective of disseminating conservation consciousness. We began by hosting 52nd World Earth Day inviting students from S V Desai College. The students with Veterinary interns from Udgir Veterinary College participated in cleanliness drive within the premises of Zoo. Though it was a small event but it paved a way for grand celebration of all upcoming events lined up ahead in a calendar year.
