☀️Crop Burn In 2 young Eclectus Parrots☀️

Feeding hot food to baby birds can cause serious harm, like crop burns. The crop, which stores food for digestion, is sensitive, and if fed with food that’s too hot, it can lead to painful burns. Always make sure to cool food to a safe temperature before feeding baby birds

If you suspect a crop burn, seek veterinary help immediately. Let’s keep our baby birds safe and healthy!

This was taken just before going for her crop burn repair and reconstruction surgery, which she and her sibling both underwent and both have recovered without any complications and are doing well ☀️🧿❤️ more details about the case will be posted soon

How does a Crop Burn occur?
It is when young birds are unknowingly fed boiling hot supplement feed or baby bird formula
