An exposure trip was conducted for the internship students of LCVSc, AVFU, Joyhing, North Lakhimpur, to ICMR–Regional Medical Research Centre, NE, Dibrugarh, on 24.03.2026. As part of the program, the students visited and explored various state-of-the-art laboratory facilities available at the institute. The students also had meaningful interactions with the scientists of the institute. The scientists addressed and sensitized the students regarding the scope and opportunities in the research and development fields of medical and veterinary sciences and emphasized collaborative work that could be undertaken to address and achieve the broader goals of One Health.

The team was led by Dr. Snigdha Hazarika, Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, and Dr. Prasanta Chabukdhara, Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary Biochemistry.

LCVSc observed the 77th Republic Day of India . The programme was attended by faculties, students and employees of LCVSc. In his inaugural speech, Dr. S. K. Laskar, Associate Dean, LCVSc talked about the history and importance of Indian constitution. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr.S.Khargharia, Associate Professor cm DDSW, LCVSc.

Glimpses of the World Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Week (18th to 24th November 2025) observed at LCVSc, AVFU, Joyhing, North Lakhimpur. A poster making competition was organized among the undergraduate BVSc and AH students on the theme “Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future”. A thematic lecture on the occasion was delivered by Dr. Himangshu Baruah, Associate Professor, Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, LCVSc to spread awareness among the undergraduate students of BVSc and AH regarding responsible use of antimicrobials to combat the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance. Dr. U R Tamuli, Associate Dean, addressed and motivated the students during the poster making competition. Dr. A. M. Ferdoci, Professor, Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding, LCVSc graced the occasion as Chief Guest during the lecture Session and addressed the gathering. Dr. Prasanta Chabukdhara, Assistant Professor cm Organizing Secretary, welcomed the gathering and expressed his happiness over the enthusiastic participation of students. Dr. Gautam Bordoloi, Associate Professor, Department of Veterinary Parasitology, LCVSc, offered the Vote of thanks.

"Promoting peaceful coexistence between humans and elephants 🐘🌱.
For the third consecutive year, volunteers from the NSS Unit and Students' Union of Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science organized a plantation drive in the Elephant corridor near Kakoi Forest Reserve, planting fodder plants to be consumed in future by the elephants.
This initiative aims to mitigate human-elephant conflict and foster harmony.

Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science (LCVSc), AAU, Joyhing, North Lakhimpur, celebrated Anti-Ragging Day on August 12th. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. U.R. Tamuli, Associate Dean, LCVSc and delivered a speech and emphasized the importance of a safe and respectful environment for all the students. The event featured an oath-taking ceremony, where students and faculty members pledged to maintain a ragging-free campus.The event concluded with a speech by Dr. Himangshu Baruah, Associate Professor cm Nodal Officer, Anti-Ragging committee, who reinforced the college's commitment to preventing ragging and promoting a positive campus culture."
Various activities are planned for the coming days within this week, including video screenings on the ill effects of ragging, interactive sessions between students and faculty, and awareness programs such as street plays and dramas to promote anti-ragging awareness.

Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science successfully conducted a 15 days (120 Hours) Internship training program for FYUGP/FYIPGP students of LTK College, Azad, North Lakhimpur and North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous), Khelmati, NLP from 4th to 22nd July, 2025. The inaugural function was held on 04. 07. 2025 in the presence of Dr. U R Tamuli, Associate Dean, LCVSc, Dr. Bubul Kr. Saikia, Principal, LTK College, Dr. (Mrs) Swapna Dutta, Vice Principal, LTK College including Faculty members of LCVSc and LTK College. The success of Internship training program was a collaborative effort of faculty members from different Departments of LCVSc. The valedictory function for the same was held on 22. 07. 2025. The training Program was coordinated by Dr. Prasanta Chabukdhara, Assistant Professor (Veterinary Biochemistry), Department of Physiology and Biochemistry, who served as the Nodal Officer for the said training program.
