"Promoting peaceful coexistence between humans and elephants ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒฑ.
For the third consecutive year, volunteers from the NSS Unit and Students' Union of Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science organized a plantation drive in the Elephant corridor near Kakoi Forest Reserve, planting fodder plants to be consumed in future by the elephants.
This initiative aims to mitigate human-elephant conflict and foster harmony.

Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science (LCVSc), AAU, Joyhing, North Lakhimpur, celebrated Anti-Ragging Day on August 12th. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. U.R. Tamuli, Associate Dean, LCVSc and delivered a speech and emphasized the importance of a safe and respectful environment for all the students. The event featured an oath-taking ceremony, where students and faculty members pledged to maintain a ragging-free campus.The event concluded with a speech by Dr. Himangshu Baruah, Associate Professor cm Nodal Officer, Anti-Ragging committee, who reinforced the college's commitment to preventing ragging and promoting a positive campus culture."
Various activities are planned for the coming days within this week, including video screenings on the ill effects of ragging, interactive sessions between students and faculty, and awareness programs such as street plays and dramas to promote anti-ragging awareness.

Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science successfully conducted a 15 days (120 Hours) Internship training program for FYUGP/FYIPGP students of LTK College, Azad, North Lakhimpur and North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous), Khelmati, NLP from 4th to 22nd July, 2025. The inaugural function was held on 04. 07. 2025 in the presence of Dr. U R Tamuli, Associate Dean, LCVSc, Dr. Bubul Kr. Saikia, Principal, LTK College, Dr. (Mrs) Swapna Dutta, Vice Principal, LTK College including Faculty members of LCVSc and LTK College. The success of Internship training program was a collaborative effort of faculty members from different Departments of LCVSc. The valedictory function for the same was held on 22. 07. 2025. The training Program was coordinated by Dr. Prasanta Chabukdhara, Assistant Professor (Veterinary Biochemistry), Department of Physiology and Biochemistry, who served as the Nodal Officer for the said training program.

๐ŸŒฟ World Environment Day Celebrated in Lakhimpur ๐ŸŒ
On the occasion of World Environment Day, a special event was organized at Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science (LCVSc) by the Lakhimpur District Administration and the Lakhimpur Forest Department, in collaboration with LCVSc.

The celebration began with a plantation programme, promoting green practices and ecological balance. This was followed by a free sapling distribution drive, encouraging participants to take small but impactful steps toward a greener tomorrow. A meeting was later held to mark the significance of the day and discuss ongoing environmental initiatives.

A lecture session was held at LCVSc, AAU, Joyhing on the topic- "Mental Health Matters" under the aegis of "Monthly Bio-Talk Series" on 08.06.2024. Dr. Shamiul Akhtar Borbora, Senior Medical and Health Officer cm Nodal Programme Officer, National Mental Health Programme, Lakhimpur District, was invited as the Resource person. Dr. U R Tamuli, Associate Dean, LCVSc offered his best wishes for successful organization of the event. Dr. A M Ferdoci, Professor, Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding, addressed the gathering and stressed upon the importance of the topic, specially amongst the students' community. Dr. Borbora deliberated exhaustively on various aspects of Mental Health which included various types of addictions and their ill effects, depression and stress management. The students had a great interactive session with Dr. Borbora towards the end of the session where they put forward their queries on the topic. Mr. Ranadeep Das, General Secretary, LCVScSU, offered the vote of thanks to the speaker, Dr. S A Borbora, faculty members and the students.
Monthly Bio-Talk Series, the brainchild of Dr. Manav Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, is an initiative to invite distinguished personalities from various fields and provide a platform for students of LCVSc to interact with them.

Two days Symposium on "Current Trends in Veterinary Research and Writing a Grant Proposal" was organised by AAUTA (VF) at LCVSc, AAU, Joyhing, NL on 17th - 18th May 2024.Dr. Probodh Borah sir, Director of Research(Vety.) A Two-days National hands on training program (Hybrid mode) on Bioinformatics with the theme "Fundamental Concepts of Bioinformatics in Biological Sciences" was organised at Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science, AAU, Joyhing, North Lakhimpur (21- 22 December, 2023). The resource persons were esteemed Scientists Dr. Probodh Borah, Professor and Head, Department of Animal Biotechnology, CVSc, AAU, Khanapara and Dr. Ravi Kumar Gandham, Head, Division of Animal Biotechnology, ICAR- NBAGR, Karnal, Haryana. Dr. Uma Ram Tamuli, Associate Dean, LCVSc inaugurated the training program in presence of Dr. Probal Saikia, Chief Scientist, AAU- ZRS, North Lakhimpur, Dr. A. M. Ferdoci, Professor and i/c Head, Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding and Dr. Prasanta Kumar Pathak, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK, North Lakhimpur including other dignitaries. The training was attended by a total of 106 participants (offline and online) from different parts of the country.
