Cat Grooming?! Why?!

There are many reasons we groom cats-
- Weather
- Matting
- Hairballs
- Allergies (human and pets)
- Avoiding and removing grass-seeds
- Stopping kitty litter tracking
- Excessive self grooming
- Not enough self grooming
- Excessive oils and undercoat
- Dandruff
- Fur everywhere!
- Not being able to reach the whole body
- Not letting owners groom them
- Vet Recommendation
- To have a nice smelling clean kitty instead of one walking from the litter tray to your pillow!

You may think it's not common but with over 100 cats on the client list, and many waiting, it must be needed!

Some cats cannot clean themselves therefore they mat (knot).
Cats naturally express oils in their coat to prevent them getting wet. In winter a cat builds up a winter coat for insulation.
Cats remove their excess oils and undercoat by licking, this causes hairballs. Not removing enough oils and undercoat (under grooming) leads to matting and dandruff.
Your cat may not be removing its own undercoat and oils, due to; excessive oils, excessive undercoat, old age, arthritis, being overweight, or being overwhelmed with the amount. I can bath and blow-dry most cats to remove excessive oils and make your cat feel like a kitten again. Cats are a introduced species, therefore cannot generally maintain their coats enough themselves to match our weather. It is very common for cats to be clipped in summer for the heat. A belly Clip and brush-out will do the same thing while keeping the coat length and sun protective coat.

Please do not try to cut the knots with scissors you can easily end up hurting you cat .PLEASE NEVER SEDATE YOUR CAT WHILE TRIMMING OR GROOMING. Leave it to the professionals.
