This arowana was presented to us as a referral case.
The most common mistake people make is getting a fish which will out grow the tank size.
They are surface feeders and excellent jumpers . Also known as "water monkeys".
This behavior inturn can cause severe damage to lateral line, vital organs and inturn lead to abnormal swimming posture .
X rays and CT scans are the most appropriate diagnostic tools for the same.

*Every fish that swims abnormal doesn't have swimbladder issue*

We did a change in management along with supplementation to reduce down stress and excitation levels.

Look who visited Us !!!

PAPA the HEN!!
Came in with complain of anorexia, severe weight loss , respiratory dysponea, lung sounds.

On further notice he hadn't eaten for 15 days.
So we decided to start fluid therapy , brochiodialtors , antibiotics and supportives.

It's important to understand , when you keep a pet ,take it to the vet who specializes in the same.

Rat bite wound.

The Indian Starback Tortoise was presented to us with the history of wound or trauma after they were left with the care takers.
However on examination , it looked typical of a rat bite injury.

The wound was dressing and necessary pain meds were given .
However,
It's important to know that keeping these animals in captivity is illegal and the species is protected under the Wildlife Protection Act.

TUMOR REMOVAL IN FISH UNDER ANESTHESIA.

Goldie was presented us in the month of May for tumor growth.
The tumor increased in size and we decided to surgically remove it.

We decided to go for an x ray first to see if the central vein or spine was involved.
Since the surgery needs to have minimal bleeding for a 80 gm fish.
To our suprise , she had a pebble stuck as well . The pebble was in transeverse position and lodged in one of the operculum.

Anesthesia being the most intersting part.

We completed both the procedure with smooth recovery.

Goldie is back home 🏡 and swimming like before.
