One of the most beautiful species of rosellas.
Pale-headed rosellas.

Pale-headed rosellas are vibrant, medium-sized parrots native to eastern Australia, known for their striking coloration and distinctive pale yellow to cream-colored heads. Their bodies feature a mix of bright blue, green, and red feathers, with blue cheeks and a red patch on the nape. These birds are commonly found in open woodlands, forests, and gardens, where they feed on seeds, fruits, and flowers. Pale-headed rosellas are social and often seen in pairs or small groups, recognized for their loud, melodic calls and playful behavior. They are popular among bird enthusiasts due to their vivid plumage and engaging personalities.

This is a story of a life saved. One of our female Rubino Rosella was incubating two fertile eggs when we noticed one egg had two big cracks around day 13 or 14. We carefully applied a thin, transparent tape over the cracks and returned the egg to the nest. By day 21, we heard faint sounds from the egg, indicating movement inside. After closely monitoring for 24 hours with no further activity, we gently broke the egg open. As shown in the first picture, a fully developed chick was trapped inside. We carefully removed part of the shell to free the chick’s head and fed it 4-5 drops of rehydration solution using a dropper. The chick was then placed back in the nest under close observation. After six hours, the chick successfully emerged from the shell. The second picture shows the same chick, now two days old, being lovingly cared for by its mother.
