Origin: Native to South America – Venezuela, Barbados, Trinidad, Brazil, and Guyana

Lifespan: 2 to 3 years (can live up to 5 years in ideal conditions)

Appearance

Lifespan: 3–5 years (can live longer with excellent care)

Size: 2.5 to 3 inches

Colors & Types: Wide variety — solid, marble, koi, halfmoon, crown tail, veiltail, etc.

🍽️ DIET & FEEDING

Diet: Carnivorous — eat insects and larvae in the wild

Best Food:

Betta pellets (high protein)

Freeze-dried or frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia

Males are territorial and aggressive toward other males
