Juvenile spectacled cobra (Naja naja)

Despite their small size, they are highly venomous and often considered more dangerous than adults. Their defensive instincts are sharper, and they lack impulse control, making them highly unpredictable when they feel threatened

Because of the extreme danger involved, you should never attempt to handle or capture a baby cobra on your own. If you encounter one, keep a safe distance of at least 3–4 feet and immediately contact local wildlife authorities or a certified snake rescue team. In India, they are protected under the Wild Life (Protection) Act, and killing or capturing them is a punishable offense

A rare (Euroscaptor micrurus), an endemic species native to the Himalayan region, was rescued by the Forest Department after being swept away by the strong currents of the River.

The animal was safely released back into its natural habitat in Manas National Park, with frontline forest personnel ensuring its successful rescue and rehabilitation.

Assam Chief Minister lauded the forest department's efforts, saying the rescue reflects the state's continued commitment to wildlife conservation and the protection of every species that calls Assam's forests home.
