The Slender Rasbora (Rasbora daniconius), also known as the Striped Rasbora, is a freshwater fish native to South and Southeast Asia. It is commonly found in rivers, streams, and ponds in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, and Thailand.
Identification:
Size: Can grow up to 15 cm (6 inches) in length.
Body Shape: Slender and elongated with a streamlined body.
Coloration: Silver body with a prominent dark horizontal stripe running from the snout to the tail.
Fins: Typically translucent or slightly yellowish.
Habitat & Behavior:
Prefers slow-moving or stagnant freshwater bodies like rivers, lakes, and rice paddies.
Forms large schools and is an active swimmer.
Feeds on small insects, plankton, algae, and detritus.
