Amid the Avian Influenza outbreak in Upper Omchung, the Rapid Response Team (RRT) Geyzing is fully deployed and actively working on the ground.

The team is functioning in full capacity, strictly adhering to all prescribed guidelines and safety protocols to effectively contain the situation and prevent further spread.

Continuous monitoring and surveillance are being carried out to ensure the safety of both livestock and the community.

Late-night case of dystocia in a pig was successfully managed by Dr. Summyangma and Bikash from the District Veterinary Hospital, Gyalshing. The sow delivered a total of 07 healthy piglets.

Late-night cesarean section was successfully performed on a cow at Srinagi, resulting in the birth of a healthy male calf. The surgical team comprised Dr Devendra Manger (Deputy Director/Ravangla), Dr Joshbina (VO, Geyzing), Dr Norleen, Dr Noor (VO, Dentam), Basu Dev Sharma, Nisha S***a and Dhosan Gurung.

A case of traumatic dog bite injury in a 5-year-old Spitz was attended by Dr. Pramada Gurung along with Sonam Palchen Lepcha (LA), Topgay Bhutia, Nisim Hang Limboo, and Nim Pintso Bhutia at the District Veterinary Hospital. Surgical intervention was performed, and the animal is doing well post-operatively with good recovery.

A case of dystocia in a cow due to breech presentation was attended by Dr. Pranisha Chettri with the assistance of Sarad Rai, Prasan Rai, Danel Gurung and Suman Chettri.
Obstetrical intervention was carried out and the fetus was delivered. The calf was found to be dead at the time of delivery. The dam was stabilized and is recovering well.
