Sometimes all it takes is a split second to end up being unable to walk or get up- playful jumping, a wrong step, even being lifted up the wrong way can cause spinal trauma. Just like we require physiotherapy to open out the kinks in our back or helping us through recovery, our pets benefit from physiotherapy as well.

Watching Panda progress from barely being able to lift his head to trying to climb onto his owner's lap has been an emotional rollercoaster ride and the credit goes to Dr. Karma, our Veterinary Assistant -Yangchen, and Panda's own family who trusted us with his recovery with a lot of patience and encouragement.

A very concerned new owner came in with a severely itchy puppy and an equally itchy child. With a balding face and ears and scabby belly, we immediately got suspicious and weren't surprised when the skin scraping tested positive for Sarcoptes mites.

Sarcoptic mange requires immediate veterinary intervention to prevent secondary bacterial and fungal infections which in an unvaccinated pup can lead to more severe complications.

Carelessness during treatment can lead to recurrent infections, which is why we always insist on doing complete dermatological analysis to provide targeted treatment for skin issues.

Owners can also contract the mites through handling and infected animal and must visit their dermatologist.

Late post but better late than never.
I had the incredible opportunity to close 2025 on a high note by reconnecting with some amazing veterinarians at the ESAVS Cardiology- 3. Mentored this time around by the wonderful Prof. Dr. Gerhard Wess (Dipl ACVIM, Dipl ECVIM-CA), this module was about all things Echocardiography- something we at BBR Veterinary Clinic have been focusing on over the last two years.
The Veterinary scenario is ever expanding and I'mso grateful to for making this opportunity available to working veterinarians like me.
