Last Sunday (14 June 2026), from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM, we successfully conducted Animal Birth Control (ABC) surgeries on 32 community dogs.
Our previous highest record was 27 surgeries on 12 June. This time, we were able to surpass that milestone.
Many years ago, Dr. Sameer Chhetri Sir told me, "If we want to gift our furry babies a healthier and safer life, ABC is the best gift." After years of working in the field, I now understand the true meaning of those words at every step.
Only a few of our volunteers truly know the amount of effort, sacrifice, and dedication required to organize and execute a programme like this. Sleepless nights, missed meals, standing for hours, arranging equipment and medicines, raising funds, coordinating logistics—everything has to be managed. Yet our volunteers continue to work with a smile and unwavering commitment.
Very often, we spend thousands of rupees from our own pockets. But the satisfaction, gratitude, and blessings we receive in return cannot be measured in money.
The most encouraging part is that more and more people in our city are becoming responsible and compassionate towards community animals. That is our greatest achievement.
I sincerely hope that once our new care centre is established, we will be able to conduct ABC programmes every month on a larger scale and help even more animals live healthier and safer lives.
