The floodwaters may slowly recede, but for countless animals, the struggle is far from over.

With no food, no clean drinking water, and nowhere safe to shelter, many are wandering through flooded villages, exhausted, hungry, and frightened. These are the silent victims of the floods lives that cannot ask for help but need it just as much.

Yesterday, our team carried out a flood relief drive for animals across:

Panbecha Chetia Gaon
Betbari Bokotha Sengelibari
Betbari Train Line Tiniali
Banmukh Pator Gaon
Banmukh Dhupaboria
Entire stretch of Bir Lachit Borphukan College Dorikapar

We distributed food and reached as many animals as we could, but many more are still waiting.

This drive was possible only because of the kindness of our donors. Thank you for trusting us and helping us stand by those who have no voice.

A special thank you to Team SARC, Tinsukia, for joining hands with us on the ground and making this relief effort possible.

The need continues, and so will our efforts. Thank you for helping us remind these animals that they haven't been forgotten. 🐾❤️

Packing relief supplies for flood-affected animals in Assam 🐾🤍

The flood situation in Assam has affected countless animals. Many have been displaced, injured, left without food, and are struggling to survive in the affected areas.

We are currently collecting donations in kind and monetary contributions to provide food, essential supplies and medical support to animals affected by the floods. Every contribution, big or small, can make a difference.

🐾 Flood Relief Collection for Animals | Sivasagar

The devastating flood situation in Assam has affected not only people but also countless animals. Many have lost their lives, been injured, displaced from the places they called home, or are currently struggling to survive without food, shelter and medical care.

Through the Animal Welfare Community, Dibrugarh, we began collecting essential flood-relief supplies for animals affected in Sivasagar. Yesterday was the first day of our collection drive, and we were truly overwhelmed by the incredible response. 🤍

Thank you to everyone who came forward and contributed. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us reach more animals in need. 🐾

We were initially planning to visit today, but due to the unavailability of a vehicle, the visit has been postponed to next Friday. We are currently working on arranging transportation and will be taking the collected supplies to the affected areas.

If you would still like to contribute or help in any way, please DM us. We would also be grateful for support with transportation.

🐾 MASS VACCINATION DRIVE AT DIBRUGARH UNIVERSITY 🐾

Yesterday, more than 70 dogs were vaccinated across the Dibrugarh University campus, including DU Haat, residential areas, hostels, administrative offices and other surrounding areas.

This VACCINATION DRIVE was conducted by ANIMAL WELFARE PEOPLE (AWP), Dibrugarh, in collaboration with and with the support of the BLOCK VETERINARY DISPENSARY, BARBARUAH.

This drive had been pending for a long time, and we are incredibly grateful to the students who helped make it happen. A special thank you to Puja Lahkar, Akhankhya, Joon, and the entire team of LITTLE FRIENDS Dibrugarh University for their coordination and support. 🤍

🚨 WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? 🚨

Vaccinating community dogs is an essential part of responsible and humane community animal care. Rabies is a fatal but preventable disease, and regular vaccination helps protect not only the dogs but also the students, staff, residents and the wider community who share the same spaces.

Community dogs are an integral part of the environment around us. Ensuring their vaccination and welfare is not only an act of compassion but also an important public health measure. 🌻✨

🐾 Rescue & Treatment Update

We received a call about a dog in Lahoal who needed medical attention. The informer brought him to Dibrugarh town for treatment, where our team took over the case.

Suvam and Akash coordinated his medical care, and upon examination, the dog was diagnosed with Canine Distemper (CD). He was provided with the necessary initial treatment.

Since we were unable to arrange a foster space in Dibrugarh, he was later shifted to Mohanbari. We are now working on arranging his continued treatment and care there.

We hope he responds well to treatment and gets through this. We will continue to monitor his progress and share further updates. 🤍🐾

🐾 Treatment Update | TVT Case ❤️

The big boy from Lakhinagar By Lane 3, Mancotta, who was rescued with an extensive and severely ulcerated Transmissible Venereal Tumour (TVT), received his second dose of chemotherapy today.

We are happy to share that there are visible signs of improvement. The tumour appears to be responding to treatment, with a noticeable reduction in its severity and the affected tissue beginning to heal. 🥹❤️

He still has a long road ahead, and his treatment will require continued chemotherapy, wound care, medication, and regular monitoring. But for the first time, we are seeing encouraging signs that he is responding to treatment. 🐶✨

Please keep him in your thoughts as he continues his fight towards recovery. 🐾

Rabies Vaccination Drive Completed! 🐾💉

In collaboration with the Veterinary Department, we successfully conducted a targeted rabies vaccination drive today to help protect our community dogs and reduce the risk of rabies.

📍 Areas Covered: DC Office Premises & DRDA Compound, Dibrugarh

🐕 Dogs Vaccinated: Approximately 15–17 community dogs

Every vaccinated dog is a step towards a safer and healthier community for both animals and people. We sincerely thank the Veterinary Department for their support and everyone who helped make this drive possible.

Together, let's continue working towards a rabies-free Dibrugarh. ❤️🐾

🐾 Rescue Update | Notun Gaon Accident Case

Here's an update on our brave little fighter rescued from Notun Gaon.

After her rescue and initial treatment, we urgently appealed for a foster home so she could continue her recovery in a safe environment. Thankfully, Anushka Phukan stepped forward without hesitation and opened her home to this little soul.

Our team is beyond grateful to Anushka Phukan for fostering her. ❤️

Unfortunately, during the course of her treatment, she started showing symptoms of Canine Distemper (CD). As heartbreaking as it was, we couldn't risk exposing Anushka's pet to the infection. Even after knowing the situation, she never complained and graciously extended the dog's stay because we were struggling to find another foster.

Anushka, thank you for your kindness, patience, and compassion. May the universe bless you abundantly. You are truly an inspiration. 🥹❤️

To ensure the safety of other dogs, we shifted her to one of our team member's home where there are no other pets, allowing her to continue her treatment without putting any other animals at risk.

There is a small ray of hope. After three days of treatment, she has finally started eating little by little. It's a tiny step, but one that gives us hope.

A special thanks to Suvam, who has been taking her to the veterinary clinic every day and ensuring she receives the treatment and care she needs.

Please continue to keep this little girl in your prayers. She still has a long battle ahead, but she isn't fighting it alone. ❤️🐾
