The idea of Channel Mountain had been conceived in 2000 by a seasoned writer, journalist, anthropologist, social worker and documentary film-maker Jayprakash Panwar ‘JP’ and conceptually supported by an eminent cinematographer Late Shri M. Later on, with the generous support of friends, CM has shaped as a media organization and was established on 13 November 2003 as a registered entity. It is the
first production firm/company in Uttarakhand, which launched a New Media concept to provide a complete package of digital communication services, training and consultancy in the state. Since its setting up, CM has provided professional services for the production of films, documentaries, news, short films, advertisements, promos, television programs, music albums, audios, radio programs, visual documentation and publications. On the other hand, CM also has imparted media training, internship, workshops, seminars and mass communication events in the state. The prime motto of CM is to restore, preserve and document land, people, ecology and environment, history and culture in the digital age. Since its establishment, CM has been engaged in audio-visual and print production for public entertainment, education and mass awareness and provided its services to a number of government, non-government organizations and institutions, private and individuals at the state and national level.
