2026 was not just another year for Roa Shelter.
It was a year that tested us, taught us, broke us at times—and still gave us reasons to believe.

We celebrated small but meaningful achievements.
Some of our animals found loving homes, and every adoption reminded us why we started this journey. Those moments of goodbye were happy, yet emotional—because letting go also means trusting that they will be loved forever.

But this year also came with deep pain.
We lost a few of our precious souls to old-age complications. Watching them leave us after fighting so hard was heartbreaking. They didn’t leave quietly—they left paw prints on our hearts.

We opened our doors to old-aged, injured, and aggressive animals—those that most people walk away from. Animals that needed patience, time, and compassion more than anything else. While cruelty towards animals outside continues to hurt us every single day, we stand helpless at times, knowing we cannot save them all.

Every day, we receive countless calls and messages to admit or abandon animals.
But only a handful reach out to adopt.

The reality is painful:
99% ask us to take animals in.
Only 1% ask to give them a home.

Without adoptions, our hands remain tied.
Without space, we cannot rescue the next animal waiting on the streets for help, for safety, for a chance to live.

As we step into a new year, our only wish is this, More adoptions. More responsible choices. More compassion.

Please don’t buy animals.
Adopt from local shelters.
Your one decision can free space for us to rescue one more dog who is still waiting on the streets for a life.

Thank you to everyone who stood by us, believed in us, and supported Roa Shelter through the highs and the heartbreaks.
We move forward with hope—because the animals deserve nothing less.

With gratitude and hope,
Roa Shelter – 2026

We are truly grateful to Sathan Kumar for sponsoring meals for our shelter animals on the joyful celebration of his wife Tharani Umapathy.
Adding to the Christmas spirit, Janani lovingly supported and sponsored Christmas meals on behalf of Downey and Junior (kittens) for our shelter animals.

These thoughtful gestures ensure that our dogs and cats receive nutritious meals and feel cared for during this festive season. Acts of kindness like these make a real difference in the lives of our shelter animals and remind us that compassion is the greatest celebration of all.

Thank you for choosing to share your happiness and love with our animals.

This Christmas, our shelter may not have decorated trees or wrapped gifts, but it is filled with something far more meaningful — hope, healing, and unconditional love

For our rescued dogs and cats, Christmas means a safe space away from fear, a warm meal, gentle care, and the promise of a better tomorrow. Every wagging tail and every peaceful sleep is a reminder of how compassion can change lives.

As we celebrate the season of giving, we continue our commitment to care for those who cannot speak for themselves. Your kindness — whether through donations, volunteering, fostering, or adoption — becomes the greatest gift our animals could ever receive 🎁🐶🐱

This Christmas, let’s choose kindness, empathy, and responsibility. Together, we can make sure no animal is left behind.
